RICK BEATO brings live show to Australia & New Zealand this October

Respected American musician, producer and YouTube personality Rick Beato has announced he will bring his live show to Australia and New Zealand for the very first time this October. Rick will visit Auckland’s SkyCity Theatre on Saturday 24 October, before landing in Australia for East Coast dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane at the end of the month.

One of the most influential music-focused creators on YouTube, Rick is best known for his channel Everything Music, where he breaks down songs, interviews legendary musicians, and deep dives into music theory and production. He has spoken to everyone from Sting and Brian May to Flea, George Benson, Peter Frampton, Rick Rubin and many more, bringing his extensive knowledge and unique insights into songwriting, recording and musicianship to an audience of more than 5.5 million subscribers.

Rick Beato Live will take place as a three-part show, during which Rick will look back over his own path and career, before breaking down a song in the style of his popular What Makes This Song Great? segment, and concluding with an audience Q&A.

A fan favourite, in What Makes This Song Great?, Rick dissects some of the most iconic songs ever recorded, revealing the songwriting, production, and musical choices that make them truly timeless. Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’, Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’, Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Go Your Own Way’ and Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ are just a few of the legendary songs Rick has explored in the segment.

He has toured his live show across Europe twice and just wrapped up a run of sold out North American dates, sharing stories from the studio, live song analyses and audience interaction sessions with fans across the continent.

About Rick Beato:
Born into a large family in Fairport, New York, Rick Beato began playing guitar at the age of 13 when a broken ankle left him off his feet in the middle of a Rochester summer. He would go on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Ithaca College and then earn a master’s degree in jazz studies from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1987. He has worked as a musician, college professor, songwriter, and record producer.
