Time for some heavy! Who doesn’t love that to start your day?! So I’m looking forward to seeing what Wage War have done with this, their sixth album ‘Landfall’.  Shall we begin? An alert siren starts and this one explodes, immediately the title track ‘Landfall’ means business, this is the perfect way to start my day, oh wow, those clean […]

Four years between albums is somewhat standard for bands these days, but it’s also exciting as that anticipation is there, the knowing that after hearing a few singles that the full length is coming, and for Miss May I, here it is. Their newest album ‘No Place For Me’, so let’s check it out. Almost what sounds like sirens ring […]

I love a tour like this, as it’s been 4 years since Bush have been here, and a whopping 16 for Shinedown, so this pairing tonight is exciting. There are two great bands and we are in for an amazing night of live music. Let’s get warmed up by Coast Arcade first… they did a great job and I’d be […]

I love reviewing albums of bands I’m not hugely familiar with, so when Movements are releasing a new album it’s definitely worth checking out and let’s see how ‘Happier Now’ shapes up. ‘Pulse’ opens the album and it’s songs like this that annoy me in the fact that I haven’t delved into a band like this earlier. This is great, […]

I’ve had the chance to see Skindred a few times now, but only ever in a festival or special guest slot, so tonight will be my first time seeing them as headliners, and knowing what their show is like in those other environments then I can’t wait to see what tonight brings. Broken Earth did a great job of warming […]

It’s been almost exactly three years since Avatar were in Sydney on their first ever visit where they blew us away. So I know that I’m ready to see one of the best bands I’ve EVER seen live once again. Pyrefly who stepped up last minute last tour are back and I’m looking forward to watching how far they’ve come. […]

Let’s check out the new Mastodon album! I’m doing a first listen review so this’ll be fun. Oh man I am immediately into this, the drums hit hard before a massive guitar rings in to open ‘Barbarians Blood’ and this is going to be good! That musical transition early on was a nice little twist as the song keeps that […]

KT Tunstall is back in Australia after a visit last year with Train and it’s amazing, and so awesome to see how many have come out tonight to see her show. Testament to an artist who hasn’t been here for a long time that people truly want to see. So tonight as we get ready to celebrate twenty years of […]

What a pairing. I mean that says it all really, I cannot wait for tonight. The Bowl My Bones tour is in Australia and this is going to be fun as Frank Tuner and The Sleeping Souls team up with Bowling For Soup. Bring it on. Immediately. Talk Heavy open the show tonight, and these legends from Brisbane are killing […]

It’s been a while since Deftones have been to Australia, and even longer since I’ve seen them. Last time for me was the very first Soundwave in Sydney back in 2007… so tonight after many albums and tours I’m ready to see them once again. Tonight is the first night of the Australian tour so there’s no set lists out, […]

One of my favourite bands is back in Australia. Easily one of the best out there at the moment, so if you’re not on board with H.E.A.T then where have you been?! Opening the show tonight is Big Red Fire Truck and they come out blazing, with a big sound and a bigger attitude they are a whole lot of […]

The Roundhouse is sold out tonight and rightfully so as everyone is ready and excited for the return of Biffy Clyro to Sydney for the first time since 2018. Lights go down as the “Mon the Biff” chants start immediately. The band take the stage and take us straight into ‘With a Little Love’ and this new one from Futique […]

Tonight will be an experience, simple as that. Tonight at the Sydney Opera House The Used are giving us this one night only event and there kinds of shows are just next level and I have to say, what a privilege to be here to witness it. As the orchestra tunes up and Sarah Grace Williams our conductor comes out […]

I haven’t seen Anthrax since 2013 so I’m excited to see them in their element and I think a lot of others are excited too as the Enmore is full! Love that. Alien Weaponry from NZ are here to open the show. Starting things off with a Hakka they are here and they mean business. As they start their first […]

I haven’t been this excited for an album in a long time. I’ve loved Don Broco for the best part of ten years now and watching their evolution has been a treat. Not to mention that they are one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen, so I know I’ll be listening to this album with the stage in […]

It’s been thirteen years since I last saw Linkin Park, and crazily twenty three years since I first saw them in Australia. Now here we are all those years later with the new era of the band and Emily Armstrong out front wearing a different pair of shoes as trying to fill those of the late Chester is impossible. I’m […]

Taylor Acorn is back in Australia on this headline run off the back of her new album ‘Poster Child’ and I am quite ready for this. This’ll be Taylor’s third trip to see us, and the third time I’ve seen her so it’s great to see her grow, and with each time she’s gotten better so I’m pumped for tonight. […]

It’s been a while since I have seen The Darkness live. So tonight I’m ready and excited to see them again. They’re here in support of their newest album ‘Dreams on Toast’ and I can’t wait to hear some of those songs tonight. Ok I can’t say I’ve been this impressed by a support in a long time. RAGEFLOWER all […]

Tonight is going to be special, as tonight in the hallowed Sydney Opera House, The Tea Party are going to be giving us one of their very special “wind” shows on this “Elements” tour, and tonight not only will show off the powerhouse that the band is, but they will be backed by The Metropolitan Orchestra, and a fifty piece […]

I always enjoy an album tour, I feel like it’s something to keep a band on their toes when they have to go back and play an album in full that’s 25 years old. So I always appreciate it when they take the time to relearn a lot of these songs and play them in order for us. That band […]

There’s been plenty of hype around Yungblud and it’s amazing to see him back in Australia and how well this tour has been selling. So let’s see what this future of rock and roll can bring us tonight in Sydney on the first night of his Idols tour. As the lights go down and the crowd roars, it’s time. The […]

It’s been a long time since Garbage have been back to Australia, and I was l there and they were amazing. I saw their set at Good Things in Sydney and they were again amazing. So here we are tonight in one of the most prestigious venues we have, the Sydney Opera House to see them be amazing here too. […]

It was 2012 when I saw The Living End on their retrospective tour, and saw them perform their debut album in full. It was outstanding, now here we are thirteen years later on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to see them do it again. I never miss a chance to see these guys live and tonight with them […]

How can you not love a bit of Jimmy Barnes?! Actual question. He’s an Aussie music legend, he’s been around the block more than a few times and tonight we’re here to celebrate and remember the album that turned 40 years old this year ‘For The Working Class Man.’ I decided to listen to the album again today in full […]

I’ll never forget picking up the debut Skid Row album back in 1989, as a 13 year old it blew my mind, and continued to help shape my music journey through the late 80’s. I’m also not scared to say it still gets a spin today… so when Sebastian Bach, the voice of Skid Row comes to town and is […]

This will be a heap of fun!! Punk Rock Factory are back in Australia to give us a night of punked up tunes we all know, love, grew up with, and can now relive in a very different way. I’ve never seen them before so I’m looking forward to it. Oh man, the Vengabus is coming and a room full […]

The last time I saw Metallica was at Soundwave in 2013… so now here we are back at Olympic Park to see them again, and after twelve years to see if they are still that good. I’m going to go with yes, more than likely a resounding yes. Before we get to the main event we have a couple of […]

This is going to be fun. While here in Australia supporting Metallica, Evanescence are doing a few intimate shows and tonight it’s our turn as this sold out in minutes, Metro Theatre is about to see something special. Here we go. It’s 8pm… No support, just Evanescence and as the band take the stage the cheers roar and that unmistakable […]

I dig Rob Thomas. I’ll never forget the first time I saw Matchbox 20. It was 1997, and from then I was hooked. I’ve seen them and Rob solo many times since and it’s so good to be back tonight at The Enmore to see him again. This is the third night of three just proving that he still has […]

This is a bit different. Last time I saw Crowded House was on the steps of the Sydney Opera House last December. Tonight here we are at these intimate pop up shows and I can’t wait hear these classic songs in this environment. The band take the stage as Neil raises his guitar and “the opening act” now called ‘Strangely […]
