Twenty years after ‘Hey There Delilah’ became one of the defining songs of the 2000s, multi-platinum Chicago pop-rock favourites Plain White T’s are bringing the celebration Down Under, announcing their first Australian headline tour in more than a decade.
Set to hit Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide this October, the four-date run marks the band’s first headline shows on Australian soil and comes as the smash hit continues to connect with fans old and new two decades after its release.
A whole new wave of Australian fans have been falling for ‘Hey There Delilah’ all over again, with the track blowing up on TikTok over the past month and finding its way to a fresh generation of listeners. The love is showing up on the charts too, with the song re-entering the ARIA Singles Chart this week at #87, twenty years on from its release.
Since emerging from Chicago in 1997, Plain White T’s have become one of pop-rock’s most enduring success stories. Across almost 30 years, they’ve amassed more than 2.7 billion global streams, earned two GRAMMY® nominations and collected multiple Platinum and Gold certifications. Their signature hit became a worldwide phenomenon, reaching No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, achieving quadruple-platinum status and earning GRAMMY® nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 2008.
Proving they remain as vital as ever, the band released their self-titled album in late 2023 and continue to captivate audiences around the world.
