ZAC BROWN BAND announce Sydney & Melbourne headline shows for April 2017

by

zac-brown-bandAlready announced as a headline act for the 28th Annual Bluesfest in 2017, three-time GRAMMY winners ZAC BROWN BAND can reveal that they will take the stage for two special all ages shows in Melbourne and Sydney in April.

Returning to Australia two years on from their ground-breaking debut Antipodean headline tour, Zac Brown Band will captivate Melbourne audiences at Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday 19th April, taking in the ICC Sydney Theatre on Friday 21st April. Tickets are on sale Tuesday 27th September at 10am local time.

“Zac Brown and his band of nimble-fingered shredders never shy away from taking risks and don’t back down from broadening an already exceedingly eclectic sonic palette.”Rolling Stone

One of the most prolific acts in the world, Zac Brown Band has earned an historic series of fifteen #1 hit US radio singles and is only the second act to top both the country and active rock formats.

Their latest platinum-certified album ‘JEKYLL + HYDE’ (Southern Ground Artists/John Varvatos Records/Big Machine Label Group/Republic Records) marks the band’s fourth consecutive #1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart. With three platinum-selling albums, ‘Uncaged,’ ‘You Get What You Give,’ ‘JEKYLL + HYDE’ and 5X platinum ‘The Foundation,’ along with their 2013 project ‘The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1,’ the band has sold over 25 million singles and eight million albums to date.

Rolling Stone said of the diverse ‘Jekyll + Hyde’; On their fourth LP, they bang out styles with such preposterous ease; Seventies Philly soul, old-timey gospel, Celtic folk, metal, reggae, jazz they could incorporate as a single-band music-placement agency.”

Over the years, Zac Brown Band has collaborated with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Alan Jackson, Mumford and Sons and more. 2014 saw them team up with Foo Fighters on Congregation, a song from their new album Sonic Highways, which appeared on the band’s HBO series of the same name. Brown performed Black Sabbath’s War Pigs with the band on Late Night with David Letterman. Most recently, Zac Brown performedFortunate Son with Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen on the HBO Veterans Day Concert for Valor broadcast. Zac Brown Band have a slew of late night television performances under their belt, including an impressive rendition of ‘Heavy Is The Head’ for Saturday Night Live, featuring Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell.

During their ‘BLACK OUT THE SUN’ 2016 Tour, Zac Brown Band broke three Fenway Park records with back-to-back sold-out concerts; the most tickets sold for a single concert, the most tickets sold over two nights of concerts by the same artist, and the first band to sell out seven consecutive shows over three years. The band reached another milestone in Camden, NJ, packing 25,227 people into BB&T Pavilion — the best-attended show in the venue’s 22-year history.

Additionally, Zac Brown Band has played some of the world’s most iconic venues, from the Hollywood Bowl to Madison Square Garden. The Black Out The Sun tour received widespread acclaim during its 30-date run, with The Oakland Press calling the show “musically dynamic and filled with surprises”, while The Boot applauded the performance for its “spot-on harmonies” and“eclectic covers”.

If Zac Brown Band’s 2015 sold out Australian performances are anything to go by, local audiences are in for one hell of a show come April next year!
