Still buzzing from their sold out city shows to unveil their new vocalist Paul Galagher, The Butterfly Effect have bowed to pressure from fans and extended the tour to include visits to Newcastle, Wollongong and Mona Vale to welcome in the New Year.
Delivering nearly an hour and a half of classic Butterfly Effect tracks as well as new material including the new single “Eyes Down”, the band proved in their recent shows why they have become one of the most respected heavy acts in the country and have easily transitioned to the second period of their career.
“Eyes Down” has been embraced by both fans and radio, with triple j adding the track to rotation and with an album in the works. With 2014 a big one for the band, what better way to close 2013 than with a sneak preview of what the new year will bring….?
“New life was breathed into the songs. New dimensions of sound discovered. The anxiety bleeding from the tense expectations in the room quickly clotted as Paul took classics, like One Second Of Insanity, into a realm of his own. Weaving through songs from every album, and even some new, it was a remarkable sight”.
– Adam Not Eve (Brisbane Show)
“Butters is back baby! There was a definite buzz filling The Rosemount, of Paul’s mind-blowing performance, and for the return of The Butterfly Effect, as well as a high anticipation the forthcoming album.”
– The Dwarf (Perth Show)
“In summary, you know those gigs that people say ‘Oh man, did you hear about The Butterfly Effect show at The Annandale?’ to which you say ‘Oh yeah, I was at that!’ and the other person says ‘Awwww man, seriously? I wish I was…’ well, that happened tonight. This show will be talked about for a while. What a fucking amazing show, what a return and here’s to the future!”
– May the Rock Be With You (Sydney Show)
“Kurt played the shit out of his guitar, with a grin from ear to ear during most of the evening. Going from comments overheard whilst walking out of the venue, fans were not disappointed.”
– Australian Musician Network (Sydney Show)
