‘Obsession’ is the brand new single from the upcoming debut album from Brisbanite four-piece, The Cairos, due out in early 2014. Recorded at Studios 301 in the paradise that is Byron Bay, the single and album were produced and mixed by Nick DiDia, who has worked with such greats as Powderfinger, Rage Against The Machine and Karnivool.
‘Obsession’ gives a hint of the sound and direction of the album, the result of almost 12 months of songwriting, delivering something quite dark, noisy and psychedelic. Upping the ante is a bleakly climactic Dogme-style video to match ** Disclaimer: not recommended for vegetarians.

With their new material now complete and ready for release, the band have a jam-packed schedule for the remainder of this year and early next, touring around Australia in the lead up to the album’s release.
The Cairos are previous Triple J Unearthed winners, and released their debut EP Colours Like Features in early 2012, to rave reviews. Widespread touring following the EP’s release catapulted The Cairos’ reputation and cemented their place at the forefront of Australia’s Alternative Rock scene.
