Sencelled – Sencelled

by

In 25 words or less: Sencelled deliver song after song of catchy melodic power pop addictiveness

If listening to an album chock full of awesome melodic rock doesn’t bring enough bliss to my ears, then mix it full of awesome power pop moments and I am in heaven.  So yes, it goes without saying that this release from Swedish four piece Sencelled is a major winner!  Taking a much more pop oriented approach than most of their Swedish melodic rock/AOR contemporaries, Sencelled deliver song after song of catchy melodic power pop addictiveness. Ricky B Delin (Houston) produced and co-wrote this album, and as he did with the Houston album, this one also features a top notch production and high quality song arrangements.

Save for the more mellow Oh, Sarah, we get 9 songs that largely follow a winning formula of high energy, lifting, pop songs that feature guitar riffs and leads that are just as likely to be stuck in your head as much as the endless hooks and insanely catchy chorus’s.  I really don’t need to say much more than that…  For all you Bon Jovi fans reading this, Track 8, Tommy & Gina is indeed a Bon Jovi throwback, with lyrics “Tommy’s car got towed away, Gina forgot her hairspray, in the car, in the backseat of the car…”, one of my favourites on the album.

With summer knocking on our doorstep here in Australia, this album is going to be massively high on my rotation in the coming months, I can assure you of that!
