Today, acclaimed pop-rock firebrand LØLØ has teamed up with alt-pop singer and previous tour mate Ella Red for a new remix of delusional darling, originally featured on LØLØ’s sophomore album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings! I like to believe the best in people, even when there are giant, flashing red flags telling me otherwise. ‘delusional darling’ is a satirical, over exaggerated take on every girl who’s ever tried to justify an asshole’s bad behavior. Sometimes, you just have to let the ‘delulu’ take over you, because being delusional feels much less lonely than facing the truth. It’s easier to rewrite your reality than to admit the painfully obvious: he’s just not that into you. After inviting Ella Red to sing this with me every night when she opened up my European headline tour, all of the fans LOVED it. Following appearances at Warped Tour Long Beach, Washington, D.C. Montreal, and Mexico City, LØLØ is currently touring in celebration of the new album on the North American leg of “god forbid a girl goes on tour!” which commenced last night with a hometown show at Toronto’s Opera House. The performance featured an appearance from Plain White T’s’ frontman, Tom Higgenson, who just teamed up with LØLØ on a new version of their sentimental Y2K smash, Hey There Delilah. The run will bring her lively, no-holds-barred live show to major cities across the U.S. and Canada, before wrapping October 26 at Boston’s Brighton Music Hall. The New York and Seattle stops are already sold out.
Later this year, LØLØ will be joining forces with frequent collaborators Simple Plan once again. She will provide direct support for the group’s arena and stadium run across Asia, before heading to Australia to play three Good Things Festival stops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
