Milo Aukerman of Descendents (Video Interview)

by

“It’s kind of fun for me because I find myself going oh maybe I can sing this one better than I sang it on the recording which that’s always the goal, hey this is a chance for me to actually improve what I was doing back then…”

From Release: So Cal punk royalty, Descendents return to Australia and New Zealand this June for the Run Down Under tour, celebrating 30 years of Everything Sucks. Originally released in 1996, Everything Sucks, remains a pivotal release in not only the band’s catalogue but in the genre they helped define. The album captured the urgency and directness that has underpinned Descendents’ influence since their beginning way back in 1978! While the tour marks the anniversary of Everything Sucks and will focus heavily on the killer tracks from it, fans can of course expect a career-spanning set, including live staples that have cemented Descendents as one of punk rock’s most consistent and respected acts.

We caught up with Milo to talk about the bands return to Australia, 30 years of Everything Sucks, their influence, the state of punk rock, the possibility of new music, tattoos, and so much more…
