Yungblud – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney – January 10, 2026

by

There’s been plenty of hype around Yungblud and it’s amazing to see him back in Australia and how well this tour has been selling. So let’s see what this future of rock and roll can bring us tonight in Sydney on the first night of his Idols tour.

As the lights go down and the crowd roars, it’s time. The stage is bathed in smoke and as the band take the stage the intro of ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ plays the defending cheer that was heard as Yungblud took his place at Center stage was amazing. Confetti cannons explode as the song kicks in and this was the only way to open the show. As the shirt comes off mid song there’s a fair chance that won’t be back again tonight and he has the crowd in the palm of his hand and this is going to be one of those shows. I can’t wait to see how the rest of it unfolds. Throwing on an acoustic to close out that opener and killer track was so damn good. Pumping the crowd up taking us into ‘The Funeral’ and this catchy tune gives me early Billy Idol vibes and I’m here for it. He is having a ball and this will be so much fun for them and for us. On this Idols world tour of course we get ‘Idols Pt. I’ and it’s one of the standouts on the album for me and hearing it live tonight was a treat and the addition of the string quartet on stage really takes it to that next level. Opening up a mosh pit on the floor as flames shoot from the stage they take it into ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ which is another hook laden tune and live is perfect. “Sydney are you fuckin ready to rock and roll?” We’re asked and we sure are. Damn that was impressive. Speaking of impressive, when this collab happened it was huge and now getting to hear ‘My Only Angel’ tonight albeit minus Aerosmith is wow. I mean you’d essentially call this a Yungblud song now anyway and he belted it out like it was purely his song it’s killer.

After a little chat we get into ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ which was fun and wild, before the show stops for a few minutes while they attend to something. OK we’re back and he gets us going again with ‘fleabag’ as a fan gets up on stage to play it upside down and you did well Jayden. That song rocked the place as Dom goes for a walk along the front row and then ends up on the crowd and even has a little crowd surf. This guy is a fucking rockstar. Next up ‘Lowlife’ is a jam, and gets everyone up on their feet. Now many here I’m sure were introduced to Yungblud when he absolutely took MVP at the Black Sabbath farewell show last year, and tonight we get to hear him sing ‘Changes’ and excuse the French but PUTAIN! You can tell how much it means to him too as the camera zooms in on the necklace Ozzy gave him. What a moment. Bathed in red ‘Fire’ begins and it’s another big rocker and just watching the command he still has of the crowd at this point is just a treat. Getting emotional before ripping into the punk rock craziness of ‘Tin Pan Boy’ and ‘braindead!’ then stopping mid song to help someone. Respect. Before starting it again to belt it out in full. The tambourine comes out for ‘Loner’ and they’re still singing along at top volume and the energy from Dom and band is still off the charts before heading off stage for a very quick break.

Returning as the strings play in ‘Ghosts’ and this massive ballad couldn’t be anywhere but this far in the set. His voice is still on fire after belting this set out for us the last ninety minutes. Confetti rains again as this outro goes wild. An obligatory shoey happens and then back to it.   ‘Zombie’ was easily one of my favourite songs of 2025, and to not only hear it live tonight but to have it close the show was an absolute treat. The power and heart put into this song is special and sadly it had to finish, and along with the song… the show.

Tonight that was something else. It may have been my first time seeing Yungblud, but I can tell you it most definitely won’t be the last. That was outstanding. This man is the future and I can’t wait to see / hear what he does next.
