To coincide with the premiere of the bands’ new video to accompany the single ‘GOT WHAT YOU NEED’, ESKIMO JOE is proud to announce a string of dates for the WASTELANDS NATIONAL TOUR. Fully electric and fully eclectic, the shows will premiere songs from the new album and feature some of the well- known and much loved hits. The bands 6th studio album of the same title (WASTELANDS) will be released through Dirt Diamonds Productions/Inertia on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 20.
Early August, the band released a taste of some new music from WASTELANDS, streaming the beautiful ‘Running Out Of Needs’ across the bands social networking sites and in conjunction with selected media partners. ‘Running Out Of Needs’ is a song that maps the familiar loved Eskimo Joe sound of the last few albums to the new synth laden sound of the first official single ‘GOT WHAT YOU NEED’. Whilst undeniably Eskimo Joe, from the opening key lines and stunning falsetto, it is clear the band have turned a corner and ventured into new aural territory with the release of ‘GOT WHAT YOU NEED’.
“This song was written to console my wife who was feeling the pressures of the outside world. It was really affecting her so I started writing this tune to say, no matter what’s going on, when you come home and it’s just the two of us, it’s all good. On one hand the song content is tender and conversational, all the while the music is joyous and uplifting. When I played the track to my brother, he mentioned that it was the sound of having a D&M with your girlfriend at a crazy house party. I think he kinda nailed it there. The clip was shot at a real party, so of course as the night wore on, there was plenty of that happening!” – Joel (Eskimo Joe)

In November 2012, Eskimo Joe smashed targets in what became a benchmark move for a multi-platinum Australian artist with their crowd-funding campaign raising in excess of 60k and making theirs campaign the most successful crowd-funding campaign for an Australian music artist at that point in time.
