Panic! At The Disco – Take 40 Live Lounge

by

It was a cool Tuesday evening when Panic! At The Disco and couple of hundred of their closest friends filled the Take 40 Live Lounge in Sydney to warm everyone up and give us a special night of acoustic spins on some of their biggest hits which was a complete turn around from two days earlier at their full blown Counter Revolution performance.

It’s always great to see bands that can showcase their talent in a different environment and this is exactly what Panic! did, the 4 piece unit set up with 2 acoustic guitars, acoustic bass and percussion showed their lucky fans that they are a real talent not hidden behind recording techniques.  Brendon Urie’s voice suited these versions of these songs perfectly and it showcased his range and ability and proved why they are part of the mainstream music scene at the moment.

Powering through a mix of old and new songs such as ‘Ready To Go’, ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedy’ and the Butch Walker co penned ‘The Ballad Of Mona Lisa’ which translates so well into an acoustic number, as well as a cover of a Smiths song thrown in for good measure, Panic! delivered a 6 song, 30 minute set and left the lucky fans there walking out with big smiles on their faces.  A great time had by all in a small room where many would have given their right arm to by there.  Definitely a talent this band are.

Set List:
Ready To Go
9 In The Afternoon
That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)
Girlfriend In A Coma (The Smiths cover)
