Sydney hard rockers, REVERTIGO, whose name came from an anagram of their favourite word, are set to release their debut EP “All You Can Eat” and hit the road on a whirlwind tour.
Forming in late 2010, the Campbelltown shire trio have just completed work on their debut EP titled “All You Can Eat” at one of Australia’s premiere recording facilities 301 Studios combining the influences of the Foo Fighters, Primus, Queens of the Stone Age and Rage Against the Machine to create catchy and memorable songs using hard riff based melodies.
Having already supported the likes of The Getaway Plan and playing classic rock venues such as Sydney’s The Annandale, Revertigo are destined to become a rock force to be reckoned with when they do a whirlwind tour through NSW, ACT and VIC in support of the new EP.
Revertigo’s beginnings start back in 2006 after an intense session of Halo 2 at a mutual friends place where Mark Kenny and Michael Boundy first met and it was with a realization that they shared similar musical interests that the pair sparked an immediate friendship. After spending a stupid amount of money on scalped tickets to the Red Hot Chili Peppers 2006 concert, there became the birth of Revertigo. After years of searching for the right guitarist, the lineup finally was complete with the addition of Michael Boyle in December 2010 after answering an ad in the local street press.
“Our first jam together wasn’t amazing, playing botched covers of Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine songs, no one was sure if the other was still interested’, says drummer Michael Boundy. “The second jam is where it happened. The nerves were gone, everyone was relaxed and in the same groove. It was clear that we had the connection needed to make the music we wanted”.
Featuring dirty bass lines, hard-hitting drums and hooky melodic guitar riffs, the band describe their style as “simple and tight, heavy and hard but still very catchy”.
The band’s debut single is in the form of “Candyman” and is a fun, up beat rebellious song. “Everyone has, or has had a boss they don’t like. This is our song about a boss that was exactly that”.
