‘Australia’s new Queen of Rock!’ may sound a little ambitious for a band so fresh into their career, but many are in agreement that ONIX is a band to watch out for. Forming as an acoustic act late 2012, front woman Jessica Renee Kirby and former Freestate and New Skinn bassist Chris Miller came together to create a blend of sweet melodies and catchy rock riffs.
July 31st sees the worldwide release of their eagerly anticipated debut single
‘Breathing Down My Neck’. The track features stand out performances by notable Melbourne musicians including Shane Evans, drummer of Engine (formerly Engine Three Seven) and guitar work by Vinny Mancuso of Bellusira. The song was produced and mixed at ‘The Alley’ by Sam Hannan.
Released alongside the track, will be an accompanying film clip which will go live, worldwide, on their YouTube channel ONIX OFFICIAL at 12.30am Wednesday July 31st. The clip was filmed and edited by Daniel Nolan, who has crafted a stunning atmosphere to accompany the track. Daniel even used his own two hands to custom build the set and set furniture for the shoot. Daniel’s other credits include music videos for Tread, Moments Apart and Bellusira, as well as his own series of acoustic session videos called Live at King Kahuna.
