Having spent the last 5 years living and working in the UK, Australia’s pop maestro, ALEX LLOYD returns home to Australia with a brand new single and accompanying video coinciding with the launch of a Pledge Campaign to complete the release of his sixth studio album titled Urban Wilderness.
Alex’s last musical journey was the collaborative soundtrack effort with WA’s widely respected Pigram Brothers for the stunning, critically lauded (and indigenous themed) film, Mad Bastards. Scoring 5 Star reviews, awards & acclaim, Alex returned to Australia to tour a live version of the soundtrack with The Pigram Brothers in 2010 resulting in sold out shows nationwide.
Fast forward to 2013, Alex now announces a crowd funding campaign via Pledge Music to complete his latest album project providing a platform for him to directly communicate with his fans alongside a stack of exclusives on offer.
With the launch of the Pledge Music campaign comes Alex’s first single release from Urban Wilderness – the upbeat pop sing-a-long gem, Better The Less You Know. Starring a huge cast of over 100 random ‘performers’ on location in London and Sydney, it’s certainly been a while since we’ve seen this many smiling faces in the space of three minutes!
Describing the concept for the video, Alex said “My idea for this video was very simple … grab an iPod and a set of headphones and head out into the wilderness and simply document the reactions of people listening to the song. I enlisted the help of musician and actor, Israel Cannan (and a few of Israel’s mates who are handy with a camera) to get the job done. My initial concern was that it would not work but after seeing the end result I was more than pleasantly surprised and find myself loving the idea of two vastly different urbanisations being one.”
And right now, here’s our imaginary drum roll as we present the first single and video Better The Less You Know! Check it out right here
