Shock Records is thrilled to announce that they have officially solidified their long-term relationship with Razor & Tie. The two record labels entered a formal agreement which will see Shock Records promote, market and release the US label’s heavy music priorities in Australia & New Zealand.
Shock and Razor & Tie have teamed up in recent years to work on individual acts such as All That Remains, Brand New and Norma Jean. Under the new arrangement, the first acts brought to the forefront will be P.O.D. and For Today with new albums from both acts due out in 2012.
As Australia’s largest independent record label, Shock Records has always had a keen eye for heavy music and have been responsible for the success of artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Alexisonfire and The Bronx.
Razor & Tie is a New York-based independent entertainment entity that includes a full-service record label with major distribution, along with media buying and music publishing divisions. Since its creation 20 years ago, R&T has sold over 40 million units and garnered multiple Grammy Awards solidifying its place as a leading entertainment company in the United States.
“All of us at Razor & Tie are excited to be joining forces with our friends at Shock. We have worked together with them on some great projects over the years including our artist All That Remains, so we are pleased to have established this new arrangement with Shock which will include many of our key releases, including the new P.O.D. and For Today albums, as well as the upcoming new albums by All That Remains, The Sword, and others. We look forward to continued success in Australia/New Zealand for Razor & Tie and Shock.” –John Franck (SVP, Marketing)
On the new partnership, Shock Records GM of Music, Leigh Gruppetta added “having enjoyed such a strong working relationship on many individual projects over the years, it made complete sense for both Shock and Razor & Tie to join forces in a broader capacity. With the direction they are taking and their brilliant new A&R team in place, we feel there is a great deal of synergy between the two companies. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
