Elisium releases new EP ‘Becoming’

by

(Fredricksburg, VA – 21 May 2012)  Virginia modern hard rock band Elisium have self released their sophomore effort, Becoming. Recorded at Atlanta’s Universal Recording and produced by Alex Rexroat, the six song effort cultivates the band’s influences, including Tool, All That Remains and Chevelle amongst others.

Coming together in Fredricksburg in 2003, the band released their first album in 2008 via the indie label Hard Volume Records, followed by the single, “AGV” in early 2011 through Universal Recording Company. “AGV” represented a new era in the sound of Elisium.  A more produced, on time, and commercially viable sound than anything they had released up to that point. The reaction from existing fans, and new fans alike was enthusiastically the same – everyone wanted more..  “AGV” opened doors that were previously inaccessible.  “In addition to helping us line up a terrific team of promotion and booking agents, we are now drawing the attention of several large indie labels, and a few major touring organizations, and we owe a lot of that success to the progressing sound in our music that was captured at the Universal Recording Company studio in Atlanta GA,” says frontman, Nate Compton.

Becoming includes a cover of the 80’s pop classic “Safety Dance“, originally recorded by Men Without Hats.  “We actually started doing this when Nate “Junior” Thomas joined the band in 2010.” reflects Compton.  “He suggested it, as a joke, and it worked surprisingly well so we kept doing it.  It’s really really fun to play.”

Having shared the stage with artists such as Nonpoint, Rev Theory, Chevelle and Days Of The New and others, the band has toured from Georgia to upstate New York and will continue to tour throughout 2012 in support of Becoming.
