The world’s biggest acts already announced for Melbourne’s DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL will showcase what they do best in a headline setting this March! Stay tuned for more acts to be announced…

PROPHETS OF RAGE

Announce Headline Australian Dates

Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill have lived the resistance from day one. They are beyond being just a band, they are a counteroffensive —  they are PROHETS OF RAGE. An elite task force of revolutionary musicians here to wake us up, encourage us to question everything, find our voice and fight for our rights. All served on a soundtrack of furious rhythm and rhyme. It’s no surprise that in the midst of 2016’s tumultuous US election, the revolutionary musicians would join together as Prophets Of Rage to combat the incoming storm.

Tickets for both headline shows go on sale at 1pm, Thursday December 7.

My Live Nation members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sale beginning Tuesday 1pm December 5 until Thursday 11am December 7.

While the fierce independence and enduring influence of their collective lineage is nearly impossible to overstate, these creative kindred spirits knew immediately this was a different beast. At its core, Prophets Of Rage functions not only on a love of music, but a deep belief in its power as a tool and a weapon.

After performing headline shows at arenas and festivals around the world, Prophets Of Rage have coalesced into a fiery unit capable of playing with equal parts precision, passion and muscle.

The band have just announced their first Australian headline dates. Fans can expect a pummeling live set that will feature tracks from their album, as well as a range of tracks from the back catalogues of their aforementioned bands!

Screamo rock gods FALLING IN REVERSE walk that fine line between genius and insanity, self-seriousness and self-deprecation, implosion and explosion! The five piece have built a fanatical fan base off the back of the ridiculous vocal range of frontman Ronnie Radke and their enigmatic, unrelenting live shows that are nothing short of spectacular! Their new album Coming Home debuted No.12 on the ARIA albums chart while its predecessor Just Like You debuted No.8 on the ARIA albums chart (the bands highest chart debut in the world).

With their 2014 self-titled debut, Atlanta-based band ISSUES broke big by infusing their metal-punk hybrid with pop-perfect melodies and the heavy rhythms of hip-hop and R&B. Follow-up album Headspace was named “one of the most anticipated records of 2016” by Alternative Press. With its crushing guitar riffs, commanding vocals, and brutally intense drumming, Headspace surges with an untamable energy that’s nothing short of exhilarating.

CHASE ATLANTIC are a trio of two brothers and one longtime friend who personally produce, perform, and passionately conjure up dark alternative pop punctuated by rock and R&B. These Aussies blur the lines between a nocturnal aesthetic and primal bliss.

Like their predecessors in legendary pop-punk bands Blink-182, Green Day, or The Descendents, the five guys in The Story So Far got together with no loftier an ambition than to make the music they wanted to hear. Along the way, they just happened to help usher in a pop-punk revival. It’s a “return of the real” that’s made a sea change across the underground.

Whether the band is destined for the large venues and record sales of a band like A Day To Remember, or even the arena level commanding presence of Blink-182, it’s safe to predict that The Story So Far will be doing it for real and doing it for the right reasons.
