DISENTOMB

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
We’re Disentomb, a Brisbane based Brutal Death Metal band. We can be summed up with ultra guttural vocals, hyper blasting, intricate guitar work and down tempo’d slams.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
We’ve worked hard over the last three years of our existence. Disentomb has made a concious effort to be aggressive in getting our music out to people both in Australia and internationally.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Psycroptic for sure, those fellas have played with nearly all of our favourite bands and we’re certainly jealous of that fact.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
Crushing. Megalithic. Intense. Brutal. Death.

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
We’re touring nationally with Cannibal Corpse along the East coast and in Perth, so come out to one of those to see home made brutality.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
Disentomb has a lot coming up in the coming months, the Cannibal Corpse Australian ‘Torture’ tour, followed by Bastardfest East Coast tour and then continuing writing out second album which will be out sometime in 2013 through Brutal Bands. Check us out on Facebook, and be sure to come out to Bastardfest and support the some of the best bands in the country.

KING PARROT

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
We’re King Parrot and were about brutal and catchy riffs and beats done in a psychotic fashion. We’re unafraid of jumping in a mosh as a band collectively, or as individuals and like generally fuck shit up.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
Anyone who knows us will tell you that King Parrot is the biggest bunch of bastards assembled as an Australian band. We all have horrible reputations in Melbourne and now we are trying to redirect that bastardness into a musical project. The results have been good thus far.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Extortion have very bastard like music, as does Frankenbok. But the biggest bastards I know other than ourselves is Blood Duster, they’re really good at it.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
Totally fucked in the head.

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
We try and get around Australia a few times a year. We play in Melbourne more than anywhere else, just because it’s easy. Hopefully in the next 12 months you’ll see us playing in far away places, even possibly over oceans.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
Ok, our brand new album “Bite your head off” is coming out in October on Impedance Records/Rocket distribution, just in time for Bastardfest. It’s sounding sick and looking sick! Artwork has been done by the world famous Glenno, and we’re happy with the entire package. We’ll be playing around Australia non stop until the end of the year so check us out on facechook and we’ll see you in the pit!

FUCK I’M DEAD

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
We are Fuck I’m Dead and we play some heavy arse deathly grindcore. In case you have been living under a rock and don’t know who we are we have been goring it out for the last 12 years playing around Aust and we did the Maryland deathfest in the US in 08 and that was killer. We used to be a three but with a drum machine but now we have a human drum machine, 666 BPM! These days we are a five piece but still are gore and heavy as ever.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
Well we are perfect for Bastardfest since we are a pack of bastards so we do fit right in. Also we are going to tear the bastards that come to bastardfest to absoloute shreds, it will be so heavy you will shit your pants.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
That’s easy, the biggest bastards outside of us of course is Bloodduster, they have been a pack of Bastards for an eternity.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
BLOOD BUTCHERY BLASTING DEATH & GRIND!

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
We play such venues as the Bendigo Hotel, The Tote, Slaughterfest (Syd) and your mums house!

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
We will have our new full length album that we will be launching and this years Bastardfest called Another Gory Mess. It’s a slab of gore death shit eating and serial killing, our first release with Darren our human drum machine.

I EXIST

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
My name is Aaron, I play Guitar and occasionally sing for I Exist, we are a band from Canberra, we play a mix of hardcore and metal and we like drinking, being stupid and hanging out with mates around the country, pretty sweet.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
There are 7 of us, so there are a lot more bastards in our band than any of the other bands (unless they also have 7, then we are equal bastards) but really, who knows! We played last year and it was fun and we were asked to do it again, so we are, should be a ripper.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Blood Duster. or more directly Jason PC, he’s a bastard. He has dicks tattooed on his chest.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
Beer, Dancing, Mullet, Metal Horns, (more) Beer.

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
Anywhere that will have us, pubs, AA joints, festivals. Whoever is happy to have us play and where people will come listen, we will play. Suss us out on one of the various social media sites we use, keep up to date on all our whereabouts!

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
We’re currently writing songs for a new record, so hopefully we will get onto recording that soon, other than Bastardfest we have some shows around the country coming up, just check out our web presence for those dates or resistrecords.com, we will shortly be dominating the world, so get the litter trays out, its about to get Haggard.

ASTRIAAL

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
ASTRIAAL – Hailing from Brisbane, Australia. We have now been an enity for over 14 years. Our music can be described as atmospheric Black Metal steeped in misanthropy.  Our compositions take the listener on a sonic journey…one resounding in Abyssal theology. We are indeed greatly looking forward to performing in Perth for the the first time.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
Rodney the promoter has known us for years and obviously thinks we are bastards, so it has worked in our favour. But in all honesty it is a very professional and ever expanding extreme metal festival which provides a great opportunity for many bands in this genre to tour the length and breadth of Australia.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Well I am hoping for the second coming of Christ the Nazarene. He was the biggest bastard of them all, was he not? Or maybe the Blood Duster fiends ha!

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
Intense, Ominous, Atmospheric, Black Metal.

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
Our live performances are generally sporadic and we try to distance shows where possible. But local/interstate shows and festival performances are our main focus within the live arena.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
Well after our first performance in Perth after these run of Bastardfest shows we will withdraw to focus solely on pre production and the recording of our next opus.  Most of which is nearing completion writing/composing wise and should herald a new darker, more intsense chapter in Astriaal’s sonic legacy. Also a grand boxset edition of our most recent album ‘Anatomy of the Infinite’ should be finalised before these Bastardfest shows as well as new and exclusive merchandise material.  Also we have just received copies of our debut album ‘Renascent Misanthropy’ in vinyl/LP format which is most pleasing indeed. DESECRATOR

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
DESECRATOR are a 4 peice full frontal thrash metal attack from Melbourne, Victoria. We create fast music for people to get drunk and move to.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
We have done a lot of touring in the last year, on our own and supporting international acts but we have never been amongst a line up as bluntly Australian as Batardfest. It’s gonna be a hella heavy and boozy experience for all involved!

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
I think that should be left up to the punters, with such a diverse cross section of bastards destroying the stages in every state there should be enough bastardism to suit even the fussiest metal bastard. That or Dysie.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
ALCOHOL FUELED THRASH METAL CARNAGE!

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
Pubs, clubs, here there everywhere. ya know places metal gigs happen where people come and enjoy shit. Book us and we will come.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
Since touring through South East Asia during July we have been focusing on new material for our next album release set for 2013. Playing with Warbringer is an exciting thing on the October cards besides Bastardfest but otherwise we are head down, beers up, writing a new set of thrash metal to bleed Australia’s and the worlds ears! Oh and yeah world dominaton too.

AVERSIONS CROWN

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”.
We are a new, hungry band who have worked our asses off since conception, especially throughout the first 8 months of 2012 till now. We are eager to show the Australian metal scene what we bring to the table.

Looking at this years Bastardfest line-ups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Psycroptic – Gods amongst men, way too good at their instruments… therefore they are bastards.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
INTENSE, FAST, LOW, MELODIC, CUTE

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
We have been playing in all sorts of venues across Australia so far in 2012. This includes DAL clubs and bars/nightclubs and a large amount of PCYC/event spaces in the more rural parts.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
Aside from world domination we are currently working on our second full length album which will hopefully be our mid next year.  We have big things in store for the next release and in our own personal opinion, it is going to destroy Servitude.

DAEMON FOETAL HARVEST

For those unfamiliar with your band, here’s your chance to introduce what you are all about?
Daemon Foetal Harvest are a five piece coming out of Wollongong. We play straight down the line 90’s style Death Metal packed with gore and blasting madness.

So tell us what makes your band so deserving of appearing at Bastardfest, the self proclaimed “festival of the bastard”?
There’s no denying that we are a pack of bastards, anyone who has witnessed us out on the piss would agree with that. On the live side we have a set that that is packed with as much political incorrectness as you could imagine when you are influenced by bands like Cannibal Corpse and Deicide.

Looking at this years Bastardfest lineups, outside of your own band of course, which individual or band do you think is most worthy of the title of biggest bastard(s)?
Blood Duster! I doubt you would find anyone who would disagree with that.

What 5 words would you use to describe your live show?
Unrelenting Death Metal aural assault.

Where can we usually find you playing, when you aren’t playing at festivals such as Bastardfest?
Anywhere on the East Coast. We are more regular in Sydney as it’s pretty close for us.

What do you have coming up on the horizon that we need to know about – a new release, hitting the studio, gigs, world domination…tell all!
We are curently working on new material for a new release in 2013. We love playing live so will definitely have a decent tour schedule for it getting us as far as we can manage.
