2012 is\u00a0THE AMITY AFFLICTION<\/strong>‘s year. This spring\u00a0THE AMITY AFFLICTION<\/strong>\u00a0will embark on their biggest run of Australian\u00a0dates yet, in support of the highly anticipated release of Roadrunner Records debut\u00a0Chasing Ghosts<\/em>. The tour\u00a0features a massive international undercard that ticks all the right boxes. Featuring California’s metallic hardcore\u00a0kings\u00a0THE GHOST INSIDE<\/strong>, Brighton’s modern metal lords\u00a0ARCHITECTS<\/strong>\u00a0and capped off with local juggernauts\u00a0BURIED IN\u00a0VERONA<\/strong>, every date on the\u00a0Chasing Ghosts Tour\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>will\u00a0start hard from the first beat and not relent.<\/p>\n

Tens of thousands of fans showed their solidarity in 2012 when\u00a0THE AMITY AFFLICTION<\/strong>\u00a0embarked on two massive\u00a0headline tours. The quintet co-headlined the inaugural\u00a0Destroy Music Tour<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and followed it up in October with the\u00a0even bigger\u00a0Fuck The Reaper Tour<\/em><\/strong>. From there they went on to appear nationally on the Big Day Out 2012, well and truly cementing\u00a0themselves as a household name in Australian hardcore. Keeping the ante high, around all that time on the road they also managed to write and\u00a0travel to the United States to record\u00a0Chasing Ghosts<\/em>, the follow up to the highly successful\u00a0Youngbloods<\/em>, which debuted #6 on the ARIA Charts.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of his band mates, Joel Birch stated, “We’re all loving the new songs. It feels like there is an entire\u00a0album of awesome songs that we love which hasn’t happened prior to this; we’ve finally written an album we are\u00a0proud of from start to finish, no filler whatsoever.” The singer also commented on the lyrical direction of\u00a0Chasing\u00a0Ghosts<\/em>, revealing, \u201cI\u2019ve tried to write my thoughts in a manner that can connect with people on an even more\u00a0personal level than I did on\u00a0Youngbloods<\/em>, and I’m proud that the substance and depth hasn’t been lost or\u00a0compromised, or watered down.”\u00a0THE AMITY AFFLICTION\u00a0<\/strong>will showcase the new material on the\u00a0Chasing Ghosts Tour<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with their\u00a0biggest run of dates in the band’s eight years together.<\/p>\n
