Valerie is a young and ambitious hard rock\/glam metal band from Arendal; a small town in southern Norway. Known for their big choruses and guitar riffs, along with blistering guitar solos – Their music is often referred to as a cross between great 80s acts like M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce, Dokken, Ratt and a more modern rock sound. It’s melodic, catchy, in your face hard rock. Valerie is 1987 in 2012.<\/p>\n

During their short career (2 years and counting), Valerie has grown a strong reputation in their home county, but also made their mark on the national glam\/sleaze scene. In June 2011 they released their first 2-track demo (Taste the bullet, Love is like a heart attack) where both songs reached the number one spot on www.ur\u00f8rt.no <\/em>(A national site for underground music owned and promoted by the national state television channel NRK).<\/p>\n

Brian Rademacher<\/em> from RockEyez.com<\/em><\/strong> said the following in his review of the demo:\u00a0“For a young band like VALERIE to show talent like a seasoned veteran group; from the soaring guitar work by BT Valerie (not to mention his vocals) to the uplifting midsection of bassist Augustus Clark and drummer Erlend Omdal and rhythm guitar Magnus Christiansen. These guys have the sound of staying power and these two tracks just blew me away. Both songs are killer and I can\u2019t wait for more to come from them “<\/em><\/p>\n

The band played at the legendary club Elm Street in Oslo with W.A.S (Chris Holmes etc) before they closed down, and recently supported Chris Slade Steel Circle (Chris Slade, Keri Kelli, Chris Glen etc) at their only 2012 gig in Norway.<\/p>\n

In January 2012, the band signed a deal with Hellish Records and is soon releasing their s\/t debut album. The record consist of 8 hard rocking tracks and you can only expect to hear more and more about Valerie in the near future.<\/p>\n
