BAND RECORDING WITH PRODUCER DAVID BOTTRILL IN IOWA, USA. ALBUM TO BE RELEASED LATE 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stone Sour,<\/strong> the Gold-certified, Grammy-nominated rock band, are proud to announce that they will begin recording their fourth album in March for longtime label Roadrunner Records<\/strong>. With most of the new album already written, the band will soon\u00a0head into Sound Farm Studios just outside of their native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Staind<\/strong>).\u00a0The album is expected in\u00a0the Australian spring of 2012, two years after the band’s most recent long player\u00a0Audio Secrecy<\/em>,\u00a0which\u00a0debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard chart, No. 1 on\u00a0the U.S. iTunes\u00a0Rock Album chart, and scored the highest international debuts of the band\u2019s career including Top 5 charts in Germany, Japan and Austria, and Top 10 in the U.K. and Australia.<\/p>\n

Audio Secrecy<\/em> also yielded the worldwide No. 1 smash single \u2018Say You’ll Haunt Me\u2019, which sat atop the Active Rock chart for eight straight weeks, and was\u00a0the No.1 Mainstream Rock Song of the Year in 2010 and a top 10 Active Rock song of the year. \u00a0Stone Sour released\u00a0Audio Secrecy<\/em>\u00a0to much acclaim, including magazine cover features in\u00a0Revolver and Guitar Edge\u00a0along with placements in\u00a0Vice, Inked, Huffington Post, SPIN\u00a0and more. The band also performed on\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!\u00a0during the album cycle. Now, they are preparing to make their much anticipated return and the table is being set for another breakthrough performance from Stone Sour.<\/p>\n

“This album will be another progression for the band,” stated guitarist Josh Rand.\u00a0“Musically, we have always challenged one another to push things to our limits, and this record is no exception.” Rand also shared some details about the album’s lyrical and storytelling narrative, saying, “Lyrically, the album follows one character to that complex moment in his life, when he finally has to decide which path to take.\u00a0\u00a0It’s a spiritual and moral power play for control of what this man will be for the rest of his life.\u00a0Each song will tell the story from different sides of the character’s personality, with the listener ultimately deciding how the story ends.”<\/p>\n

Stone Sour’s self-titled debut, also certified Gold, spawned the band’s first breakthrough hit \u2018Bother\u2019, which was spotlighted on\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0soundtrack. The band next released the gold-certified\u00a0Come What(ever) May<\/em>, which\u00a0debuted at\u00a0No. 4 on the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0Top 200 Album Chart and spawned three radio hits: \u2018Sillyworld\u2019, \u2018Made of Scars\u2019, and the No. 1 smash hit single \u2018Through Glass\u2019.
