A Day To Remember have the perfect band name, as when you see these guys play it sure is a day to remember, yeah, that just happened, but it’s true.\u00a0 An energetic hardcore \/ rock band that put on one hell of a show and that will be no different as they are heading back Down Under for Soundwave as well as a couple of Sidewaves in February.\u00a0 They’re one of the major bands to catch on the day, so take it from us, do what you can to see them!\u00a0 Their last album ‘What Separates Me From You’ was one of the best of 2011 and if you haven’t heard it yet, do yourself a favour.<\/p>\n

We had a quick chat to Kevin from A Day To Remember about heading back to Australia, touring in general and just when we can expect new music from them.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re heading back to Australia for Soundwave, what can we expect this time around?<\/strong>
\nHopefully a good concert ha ha ha we just hope we come down and that people don\u2019t hate us.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re also hitting up some Sidewaves with The Used and You Me At Six, how if any way do you treat your own headlining shows compared to that of a being on at a festival?<\/strong>
\nYeah well when we headline we have twice as long as a set than when play a festival set, and it\u2019s indoors.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know, it makes for a better environment I believe, cause people come and feel like they\u2019re all in it together.\u00a0 The festival will be cool this time around cause there\u2019s a lot of good headliners and there\u2019s gonna be a bunch of people there so they both have their pros and cons.<\/p>\n

Are you pumped to catch any of the other bands on the Soundwave bill?<\/strong>
\nYes, Limp Bizkit\u2019s playing! The dudes that we\u2019re playing the sidewaves with, The Used and You Me At Six I\u2019m pretty excited to see.\u00a0 I\u2019ll just walk around the festival a bit, I\u2019m not quite sure.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve been to Australia many times before, how do our audiences here compare to those around the world?<\/strong>
\nTo be honest with you, we get kind of the same reaction everywhere we go.\u00a0 Australia is one of the better places next to the United States, I think UK and Australia have really similar reactions to us so Australia\u2019s like our second favourite and the UK is our third favourite place to go, you guys are high up there.<\/p>\n

\u2018What Separates Me From You\u2019 has been out for over a year now, has there been any thoughts about the next album or is it still on this one until you\u2019ve finished touring?<\/strong>
\nWell we\u2019re kind of doing both at the same time, we\u2019ve been writing for the new album since our last album pretty much, we just kinda never stop.\u00a0 We have a bunch of material that we\u2019re going to need a whole frickin year to go back and listen to, but hopefully we\u2019ll be done by July or August and get that album released this year.
\n This year?<\/strong>
\nYeah, we\u2019re trying as hard as we can, then it\u2019s up to the higher powers to say when it comes out, but as the band we\u2019re shooting for this year.<\/p>\n

Are you aiming for the same vibe on this one?<\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s a different vibe, it\u2019s the last album but more of a ‘Homesick’ album, I don\u2019t know, it\u2019s different, you\u2019ll hear in hopefully not too long.<\/p>\n

I did read that Tom Denney would be involved with this new album in some form again, is that true?<\/strong>
\nYeah for sure, I mean he was involved with the last album and he\u2019s definitely going to be involved with this one, pre-production demos and writing songs and stuff, he\u2019s always going to be involved with everything we do.\u00a0 Whether it be making albums, he\u2019s in almost every one of our videos too ha ha.<\/p>\n

My favourite song on your latest album is \u2018All Signs Point To Ft Lauderdale\u2019 and I see that was voted as number 10 on AOL\u2019s top 10 rock songs of 2011, how cool is that for you guys?<\/strong>
\nThat\u2019s awesome! I didn\u2019t even know it was even voted top songs of AOL, that\u2019s really cool to know.<\/p>\n

As a band for close to almost 10 years, looking back over your career, what do you see as the biggest learning curve?<\/strong>
\nDefinitely Warped Tour is a huge one, you learn a lof of what not to do.\u00a0 Definitely your first headlining tour, you learn a lot on that, whether it be time limits, getting on stage, making sure all the support acts are comfortable, making sure everyone is taken care of.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot to learn at every kind of show that you do.<\/p>\n

How much longer are you out on the road for this album?<\/strong>
\nWe\u2019re going to be touring until the first week of May and then after that we\u2019re going to go into the studio.<\/p>\n

Do you have a message for your Australian fans?<\/strong>
\nWe love you guys and we\u2019ll see you in February.<\/p>\n
