Fogerty and his crack band have spent much of the past year rockin\u2019 all over the world, drawing rapturous critical acclaim at every stop.\u00a0 \u201cEnergetic, wired, and vital\u2026Fogerty was simply a physical wonder to behold,\u201d<\/em> exclaimed the Toronto Sun in a four-starred rave.\u00a0 The San Francisco Examiner declared Fogerty\u2019s \u201ccrowd-pleasing\u201d<\/em> set as one of the clear highlights of the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, while Rolling Stone pointed out that \u201cFogerty couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

John Fogerty is a true American treasure, one of popular music\u2019s all-time greatest singers, guitar players, and songwriters.\u00a0 His remarkable career began in his hometown of El Cerrito, California, soon earning massive popular and critical success with the one and only Creedence Clearwater Revival.\u00a0 As leader of CCR, Fogerty forged a distinctive, groundbreaking sound all his own, equal parts blues, country, pop, rockabilly, R&B, swamp boogie, and Southern fried rock \u2018n\u2019 roll, all united by his uniquely evocative lyrical perspective.<\/p>\n

From 1968 to 1971, Creedence Clearwater Revival unleashed an incredible succession of hit singles and platinum certified albums that remains unparalleled in the annals of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll history.\u00a0 Their expansive cover of \u2018Suzie Q\u2019 was followed by a stunning series of Fogerty-penned favourites that dominated rock and pop radio, including \u2018Proud Mary,\u2019 \u2018Down On The Corner,\u2019 \u2018Born On The Bayou,\u2019 \u2018Have You Ever Seen The Rain,\u2019 and what remains the definitive anti-war anthem, \u2018Fortunate Son.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cGREEN RIVER<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d the second of three CCR albums released in 1969, proved their first out-and-out blockbuster.\u00a0 Fuelled by the smash singles, \u201cBad Moon Rising\u201d and \u201cGreen River,\u201d not to mention the immortal \u201cLodi,\u201d the album spent three weeks atop the Billboard 200, confirming Fogerty\u2019s status among American rock \u2018n\u2019 roll\u2019s preeminent artists.<\/p>\n

1970\u2019s \u201cCOSMO\u2019S FACTORY<\/em><\/strong>\u201d marked Creedence Clearwater Revival\u2019s biggest seller and greatest critical triumph.\u00a0 The album \u2013 currently certified 4x-platinum by the RIAA \u2013 stands tall as a veritable jukebox of iconic rock \u2018n\u2019 roll, from \u201cTravelin\u2019 Band\u201d and \u201cWho\u2019ll Stop The Rain,\u201d to \u201cRun Through The Jungle\u201d and \u201cUp Around The Bend,\u201d to \u201cLookin\u2019 Out My Back Door\u201d and the epic \u201cI Heard It Through The Grapevine.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Creedence Clearwater Revival called it quits in 1972, Fogerty embarked on what would prove to be an equally impressive solo career.\u00a0 Among its many highlights are 1975\u2019s \u201cJOHN FOGERTY\u201d \u2013 featuring the rollicking \u2018Rockin\u2019 All Over The World\u2019 \u2013 and 1985\u2019s #1 phenomenon, \u2018CENTERFIELD<\/strong>.\u2019\u00a0 With its trio of timeless hit singles, including \u2018The Old Man Down The Road,\u2019 \u2018Rock And Roll Girls,\u2019 and the irresistible title track, the multi-platinum collection marked Fogerty\u2019s glorious return to the forefront of modern rock \u2018n\u2019 roll.<\/p>\n

1997\u2019s \u201cBLUE MOON SWAMP<\/strong>\u201d earned Fogerty further acclamation, as well as a Grammy Award for \u2018Best Rock Album.\u2019 \u00a0Among his many other honours are induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the BMI Pop Music Awards\u2019 prestigious \u2018BMI Icon,\u2019 and Performance Magazine\u2019s \u2018Theater Tour of the Year\u2019 Award.\u00a0 In addition, Fogerty and \u2018Centerfield\u2019 were honoured during the 2010 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies \u2013 the first time the National Baseball Hall of Fame has immortalized a musician or song as part of the annual ceremonies.<\/p>\n

Having made infrequent live appearances in the 90s, by 2004 he had made a full-throated return to the road, including the MoveOn.org-sponsored Vote For Change tour and his first series of European dates in more than three decades.\u00a0 Other live highlights include 2009\u2019s 25th<\/sup> Anniversary Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Benefit Concerts at Madison Square Garden (which saw him performing alongside Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band) and a stellar main stage set at 2010\u2019s Bonnaro Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.\u00a0 Still going strong in 2011, Fogerty and his always electrifying backing band bring it each time they step upon a stage, performing his mind-blowing body of work to generation after generation of adoring fans.<\/p>\n
