\"\"<\/a>“24 Hours”<\/strong>, the new video from guitar virtuoso and singer\/songwriterRichie Kotzen<\/strong>, can be seen below. The song is the title track of\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>‘s new album, which is scheduled for release on November 11 viaHeadroom-Inc.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“24 Hours”<\/strong>\u00a0reflects the guitar style that has defined\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>‘s career as a virtuoso, while taking it to another level.<\/p>\n

“I feel like I have reached a new level of soloing on the opening track\u00a0’24 Hours’<\/strong>,” explains\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>. “I stopped using a guitar pick on electric a few years ago and my playing has evolved in a different way. Some of the solo lines I play on the song\u00a0’24 Hours’<\/strong>, and others as well, are lines I would have never been able to play with a guitar pick. So I would say the solos on this CD are at a different level than previous recordings.”<\/p>\n

“24 Hours”<\/strong>\u00a0is an absorbing collective blend of\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>‘s musical influences and diversity. It takes you on an inspired, musical journey as the opening track sets the tone that falls stylistically somewhere between early\u00a0VAN\u00a0HALEN\"\"<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE<\/strong>.\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>\u00a0also brought in his talented daughter,\u00a0August Kotzen<\/strong>, and friend\u00a0Jerry Cantrell<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0ALICE\u00a0IN\u00a0CHAINS\"\"<\/a><\/strong>, to complete the album.<\/p>\n

“My daughter\u00a0August<\/strong>\u00a0is singing with me on a few songs and is playing electric piano on the song\u00a0‘Stop Me’<\/strong>,” states\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>. “My friend\u00a0Jerry Cantrell<\/strong>\u00a0is singing backgrounds on\u00a0‘Love Is Blind’<\/strong>\u00a0and does a very cool lead vocal ad-lib in the final chorus of the tune.”<\/p>\n

Kotzen<\/strong>\u00a0burst onto the\u00a0heavy\u00a0metal\"\"<\/a>\u00a0scene as a teenager with a lightning-fast guitar techniques. With his talents,\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>\u00a0has played with some of the best musicians; including renowned jazz great\u00a0Stanley Clarke<\/strong>\u00a0and a three-year stint in the band\u00a0MR. BIG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I have been lucky in the sense that I have been able to play with guys who I could learn from,” explains\u00a0Kotzen<\/strong>. “The biggest musical lesson for me was playing in a band with\u00a0Stanley Clarke<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Lenny White<\/strong>. Obviously, these guys are jazz musicians and I am not, but I learned so much from the time we recorded and toured together. My favorite rock bassist is\u00a0Billy Sheehan<\/strong>, and we were in\u00a0MR. BIG<\/strong>\u00a0together for three years, which was awesome.”<\/p>\n\n
