New Album, From The Dark<\/em>, To Be Released on Oct 23 via BMG
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

BMG Records are delighted to announce the worldwide release of the brand-new album from legendary guitarist\u00a0Tony Iommi<\/span><\/strong>, entitled\u00a0From The Dark<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Heralded by the first single \u2018World Alone\u2019 which received its premiere at a special global streaming event<\/a> hosted in Iommi\u2019s hometown of Birmingham, England, a stone\u2019s throw from the famous Black Sabbath Bridge across the canal, which was opened as a civic tribute to the iconic band in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018World Alone\u2019 is a thunderous rock song that speeds along on a barrage of flying guitar riffs and solos, backed by a driving rhythm section and topped off with the powerful rock operatics of acclaimed Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande<\/strong>. The video is based around a retrofuture, dystopian universe where the lead protagonist, The Believer, is pitched into a twisted video game to save his life and ultimately find salvation.<\/p>\n

From The Dark<\/em>\u00a0sees Tony Iommi joined throughout by\u00a0Jorn Lande<\/strong>, who shares writing credits on all songs, as well as bassist\u00a0Becky Baldwin\u00a0<\/strong>and drummer\u00a0Karl Brazil<\/strong>. Co-produced by\u00a0Tony<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mike Exeter<\/strong>, his long-time creative partner, co-writer, producer and audio engineer, the sound is crystalline, vibrant and enormous, engulfing the listener in a state-of-the-art sonic experience that is as contemporary as it is timeless.<\/p>\n

Tony Iommi says,\u00a0\u201cIt’s an album we’ve really enjoyed making. We’re not trying to prove anything – it’s a great album, it rocks!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

From the opening notes of \u2018Over The Violent Sun\u2019, featuring a classic, driving down-tuned guitar riff from Tony Iommi and the dramatic vocal prowess of Jorn Lande, it is clear that\u00a0From The Dark<\/em> is an outstanding album that can hold its place amongst the impressive Iommi catalogue.<\/p>\n

\u2018Black Times\u2019 continues the journey, a sucker-punch strike that takes no prisoners, leading into the barn-storming first single \u2018World Alone\u2019, before fourth track \u2018Beyond The Dead\u2019 changes the pace, with a stately and sinister riff interwoven with epic orchestration.<\/p>\n

The existential questioning of Lande\u2019s lyrics, full of dystopian imagery and ruminations on the fleeting nature of the human experience is writ-large throughout the album, especially on \u2018Stormwatcher\u2019 with its nautical metaphors and dreams of new horizons. A brilliant centrepoint of this remarkable album, \u2018Stormwatcher\u2019 is matched in scope and drama by the subsequent \u2018Death Wake\u2019, both music and lyrics combining to create a vivid picture of the cruelties of a life without love and humanity.<\/p>\n

From The Dark\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0closing two songs, the furious passion of \u2018Return Of The Arbalist\u2019 and the truly epic kaleidoscope of \u2018Legacy\u2019 showcase the power and drama, the light and the shade that courses through the album. Coming a year after Black Sabbath\u2019s final-ever show, at 2025\u2019s Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham, it demonstrates the creative fires that burn ever-brightly in Tony Iommi and is undoubtedly one of the greatest rock albums to be released this year.<\/p>\n

The double LP edition will be manufactured in four colours, available from different retailers. Cut at 45rpm on double vinyl for optimum dynamic range the deluxe, gatefold package is premium black card with a die cut of Tony\u2019s signature cross, that holds beneath a suitably dark and detailed, illustrative journey across the album. Part visible when in situ and with the full image revealing as the inner sleeve is drawn out.
