With an ever-evolving world-building approach both musically and visually, Nothing\u00a0But\u00a0Thieves returned to their roots \u2013 literally and thematically – during their recent time in the studio, recording at Angelic Studios where they made their debut record, looking back to how they began with a DIY spirit rooted in authenticity.\u00a0Rather than carving new ideas out on the road,\u00a0their new record\u00a0was written in unison over a\u00a0dedicated\u00a05-month period,\u00a0resulting in the\u00a0band creating\u00a0their\u00a0most liberating and cohesive\u00a0work\u00a0to date.\u00a0New album\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Stray Dogs\u2019<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>speaks to the power of community, belonging and the collective shared experiences that unite outsiders, including the\u00a0immediate\u00a0\u2018stray dogs\u2019 in the band\u2019s own world.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing But Thieves\u00a0have been leaning into their\u00a0loyal\u00a0community over the past couple of weeks, teasing the announcement of\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Stray Dogs\u2019<\/span><\/b>\u00a0with\u00a0guerilla\u00a0posters, a 4-day cryptic\u00a0Youtube\u00a0channel building\u00a0to a global livestreamed performance,\u00a0and a secret gig\u00a0billed as \u2018stray dogs\u2019\u00a0at Think Tank in Newcastle\u00a0following their\u00a0set\u00a0at Radio 1\u2019s Big Weekend.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first taster of the band\u2019s new music\u00a0launched with\u00a0new\u00a0single\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Evolution\u2019<\/span><\/b>, which was\u00a0showcased to 250 in-person and millions of global fans last\u00a0week\u00a0as part of\u00a0their\u00a0YouTube livestream, alongside receiving its first play with Jack Saunders as Radio 1\u2019s Hottest Record.\u00a0With an adept ability to experiment between the genres that influence them as a band, the elated and fast-paced track combines soaring vocals and energetic guitars into a communal alt-pop anthem that is uniquely and brilliantly Nothing\u00a0But\u00a0Thieves. With a subtle lyrical nod to a hometown live venue that shaped their beginnings, the track inspires harmony, nostalgia and hope. The video, filmed in London alongside\u00a0250-fans as part of last week\u2019s livestream, will be premiering on Thursday.\u00a0The band say,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a song that’s not too concerned about finality. I think imperfection and authenticity is becoming ever more valuable\u00a0and\u00a0it’s\u00a0definitely something\u00a0we’re drawn to.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve spent some time trying to work out what’s real and tangible about who we are and how we use our time. The people we travel the world with, the human moments on stage, the connection we make with those who come to our shows. That’s real.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a bit of a love letter to the people in our world in that way.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, Nothing\u00a0But\u00a0Thieves scored their debut #1 album with\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Dead Club City\u2019,<\/span><\/b>\u00a0which marked their fourth Top 10 record following\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Moral Panic\u2019<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Broken Machine\u2019<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Nothing\u00a0But\u00a0Thieves\u2019<\/span><\/b>. They accompanied their last record with the \u2018The DCC World Tour\u2019, which included two sold-out nights at London\u2019s Wembley Arena alongside multiple sold-out arenas and shows across Europe and North America.\u00a0Amassing over 1.2 million worldwide album sales, 2 billion worldwide streams and 250 million video views, they\u00a0have built up a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound and achieved global success with\u00a0<\/span>multiple gold and platinum records around the world.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fresh from a performance at Radio 1 Big Weekend\u2019s last week, alongside\u00a0a\u00a0secret\u00a0Newcastle\u00a0headline show, this summer\u00a0sees\u00a0the band\u00a0perform\u00a0at festivals across Europe, alongside\u00a0supporting\u00a0Biffy Clyro at their outdoor shows in London and Edinburgh.\u00a0Today, they have announced their biggest headline tour to date\u00a0commencing in January\u00a02027\u00a0with shows across the UK\u00a0& Ireland, Europe,\u00a0the United\u00a0States\u00a0and Canada.
