\"\"<\/a>Taylor Acorn is back in Australia on this headline run off the back of her new album \u2018Poster Child\u2019 and I am quite ready for this. This\u2019ll be Taylor\u2019s third trip to see us, and the third time I\u2019ve seen her so it\u2019s great to see her grow, and with each time she\u2019s gotten better so I\u2019m pumped for tonight. <\/span><\/p>\n

I made it in time to see Arrows In Action take to the stage to a cheer and with some finger clicks they launch into \u2018Empty Canvas\u2019 and this is a fun vibe. Into one that a lot of people here seem to know and are happily bopping along to which is great to see \u2018Light Like You\u2019 was a catchy little ditty. The slower \u2018Put You Through Me\u2019 keeps things moving along nicely. Then they get hands waving for \u2018High\u2019 and after a fun interlude of what to do next from drummer Jesse they take us into \u2018Head in the Clouds\u2019 with a stomp and a clap. Throwing in a new one called \u2018Stop Talking\u2019 and these songs are just damn good fun. The phone lights come up for \u2018Uncomfortably Numb\u2019 and then heading back a few years for \u2018All the Ways I Could Die\u2019 and that was great. These guys are the perfect opener for tonight and I\u2019m sure they\u2019ve gotten a lot of new fans from this tour. With a couple to go we get \u2018Over It\u2019 and there are a lot here that seem to know this one, that\u2019s awesome. Closing with \u2018Cheekbones\u2019 that\u2019s a band I\u2019ll definitely check out again. It\u2019s their first time here but definitely will not be their last. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for our main act for the evening, and launching into the title track from her latest album \u2018Poster Child\u2019 Taylor Acorn is in fine form and this is the perfect choice to kick things off. Into the one I was waiting for, \u2018People Pleaser\u2019 and she nailed it and hearing everyone sing along it so awesome and getting the claps in was a moment. That\u2019s such a good song. She is sounding amazing tonight, and we get \u2018I Think I\u2019m in Love\u2019 and wow that was large and that rock ending was outstanding, props to Ricky and Ethan on this one. Saying hi to us you can just see and hear how appreciative she is and it\u2019s heartwarming as she takes us into \u2018Coma\u2019 and this powerful song gets its perfect live treatment as she belts it out. Watching her band truly give this song its dues and guitarist Ricky throwing himself around the stage is a treat to watch. Oh yes time for my favourite from her new album\u00a0 <\/span>with \u2018Blood on Your Hands\u2019 and hearing this live took the song to another level. Staying on the new album with \u2018Cheap Dopamine\u2019 and slows things down a little which after the intense beginning is needed. Drummer Ethan smashes things for a bit before \u2018Goodbye, Good Riddance\u2019 and this is most definitely a fave of the night. That\u2019s is a huge crowd favourite and will most definitely never leave her set. That was impressive \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Taylor puts on an acoustic for \u2018Home Videos\u2019 and this one is such a great tune and a perfectly written story song. Then we rock things back up with \u2018Crashing Out\u2019 and she keeps giving it her all, she is seriously impressive. She\u2019s such a talent and those kicks, deadly. Now she\u2019s rocking out with an electric on for \u2018Hangman\u2019 and it sounds amazing. These new songs are made for a live setting it\u2019s so perfect how well they fit in. \u2018Greener\u2019 is easily my favourite track of Taylor\u2019s and it\u2019s up next. This is so good and made even better as she\u2019s joined by Victor from Arrows in Action for it and that was a really awesome take on the song with those dual vocals. Slowing it was down again for \u2018Birds Still Sing\u2019 and it\u2019s a truly well written song and one with a perfect message. \u201cBirds still sing on bad days\u2026\u201d truth. Before rocking it out to close this one and then with a thank you so much she takes a quick break before coming back with a promise of two more songs, the first being \u2018Shapeshifting\u2019 which deserves its spot this far into the set then \u2018Psycho\u2019 was the perfect closer and kind of the only one it could be. It\u2019s the happiest, craziest song in her catalogue and you cannot help but love this one. <\/span><\/p>\n

A very appreciate Taylor Acorn just powered through that set, even with being not 100% she gave it her everything and you never would\u2019ve known for a second she was under the weather. If you want a nice set of catchy tunes, excellent vibes, and just a good time\u2026 go and see Taylor Acorn. We need more artists like her out doing this but I for one can\u2019t wait for her fourth trip down here already. She deserves all the love she got tonight.<\/span><\/p>\n
