Famous for their love of Australia, today’s news marks the band’s first live show in Tasmania since 2015 and their first ever time in Launceston. Foo Fighters were last on our shores in November\/December 2023, when they played to sold-out stadiums in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in celebration of their universally acclaimed 11th<\/sup>\u00a0studio album,\u00a0But Here We Are:<\/em><\/p>\n

‘The band had clearly come to conquer, opening with a biggie, ‘All My Life’ and tackling the tune with every ounce of aggression and energy that they could muster. As Dave Grohl tells us soon after, it’s going to be a long night’ \u2013 Australian Musician Magazine<\/em><\/p>\n

Marking their 14th<\/sup>\u00a0visit to Australia with this special show at UTAS Stadium, the band have a history of delivering jaw-dropping surprise performances: in March 2022 Foo Fighters reignited the nation, delivered a blistering, history-making performance in Geelong, VIC:<\/p>\n

‘This was a historic night for live music in Australia: one of the world’s biggest rock bands travelling especially to play a full-capacity, one-night-only stadium show to 30,000 people \u2013 in a regional city, no less … the result was utterly euphoric’ \u2013 The Guardian<\/em><\/p>\n

Foo Fighters have sold over 1.8 million records in Australia, with nine #1 albums to date \u2013 the most #1 in any territory for the band. As the world’s premier stadium rock band, they returned to the stage this September, surprising US fans with a run of guerilla club shows featuring new drummer Ilan Rubin (Nine Inch Nails, Paramore). In October they dropped new single\u00a0‘Asking For a Friend’<\/a>, which follows on from the July release\u00a0‘Today’s Song’<\/a>, the first new taste of music from the band in two years. Foo Fighters will perform across the UK and Europe in June 2026, supported by Aussies Royel Otis and Otoboke Beaver, Inhaler, Die Spitz, Idles and Fat Dog, before undertaking a North American summer stadium tour in August\/September alongside guests Queens of the Stone Age, Mannequin Pussy, and Gouge Away.<\/p>\n
