\"\"<\/a>On September 20th<\/sup>,\u00a0Keith Urban’s<\/b>\u00a0new album\u00a0HIGH<\/i><\/b><\/a>\u00a0will be released, his first album in nearly four years – a musical journey, intentionally sequenced through themes of what it is to be alive, human connection, cutting loose, huge hook chorus’, hope, nostalgia, shredding solos, straight-up fun and some personal life revelations.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always been drawn toward the subject of living in the moment, because it’s all there is, and it’s hard to do,”<\/i>\u00a0says Urban.\u00a0\u00a0“And these days with so much ‘content’ flying at us, it can feel like drinking from a fire hose.”<\/i><\/p>\n

The ambiguity of the word\u00a0‘high’<\/i>\u00a0peaked\u00a0Urban’s<\/b>\u00a0curiosity and so the name of the album.\u00a0\u00a0“What makes you ‘high’ can mean whatever you want it to mean,”<\/i>\u00a0says Urban.\u00a0 “It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it’s definitely a place of utopia”<\/i><\/p>\n

He continues, “For me it’s my family, my friends, and this rollercoaster musical journey I’m on.\u00a0 Playing guitar, writing songs and the place where I always feel high \u2013 playing live.\u00a0 Every night I get a chance to bring an energy and a release to people.”<\/i><\/p>\n

But with the highs do come lows and for\u00a0Urban<\/b>\u00a0that came back in ’22.\u00a0\u00a0“At the time I was on tour. I’d do a concert, go back to Nashville to record, do a concert and come back to record, and over again.\u00a0 So, I thought I’d call the album 615. That’d keep me on track \u2013 focused and disciplined.”<\/i><\/p>\n

The process ended up creating an unexpected result for\u00a0Urban.<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0“There was no continuity.\u00a0 The songs didn’t work well together.\u00a0 I learned that what I thought was a framework to create within, turned out to be musically limiting.”<\/i><\/p>\n

Today also brings more from\u00a0Keith Urban’s<\/b>\u00a0HIGH<\/i><\/b>\u00a0with the release of\u00a0“Wildside,”<\/i><\/b><\/a>\u00a0a straight up, good-time party song loosely based on\u00a0Joan Cusack’s<\/b>\u00a0character in the movie\u00a0“The School of Rock.”\u00a0<\/i><\/b>“She’s the principal of a school by day, all prim and proper,”<\/i>\u00a0says\u00a0Urban.<\/b>\u00a0“And then, a few tequilas at night and all bets are off.”<\/i><\/p>\n

The song’s release follows\u00a0“Straight Line,” “Go Home W U”<\/i><\/b>\u00a0with\u00a0Lainey Wilson<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0HIGH’s\u00a0<\/b>current radio single\u00a0“Messed Up As Me.”<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
