\"\"<\/a>Seminal Australian favourites, The Church,<\/strong> will be hitting the road for their \u2018The ALREADY YESTERDAY Tour\u2019 which will see them perform in theatres across the country.\u00a0 Music lovers have been under their spell since they released their debut album in 1981.<\/p>\n

The Church<\/strong> will treat fans with a selection of songs from the band\u2019s first four albums \u2013 \u2018Of Skins & Heart\u2019, \u2018The Blurred Crusade\u2019<\/em>, \u2018S\u00e9ance\u2019<\/em>, and \u2018Heyday\u2019<\/em>.\u00a0 Collectively, these albums spawned some of the bands biggest hits including \u2018The Unguarded Moment\u2019, \u2018Almost With You\u2019 & \u2018Electric Lash\u2019 which have become staples on radio playlists globally.\u00a0 The shows will also celebrate an incredible discography across the bands vast and critically acclaimed releases \u2013 taking fans on a musical journey from the very beginning right through to the present day.\u00a0 For the first time in decades and to commemorate the tour, Universal Music will be reissuing these first four albums on vinyl throughout the year.<\/p>\n

The Church<\/strong> are one of the most successful and enduring bands of the post-punk era and continue to remain a treasured creative force.\u00a0 They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2010 reaffirming their status as one of the world\u2019s greatest live acts.<\/p>\n

Of Skins & Heart<\/strong> \u2013 the debut album was released in April 1981. Produced by Chris Gilbey and Bob Clearmountain \u2013 it boasts the singles \u2018She Never Said\u2019, \u2018Tear It All Away\u2019 and of course \u2013 \u2018The Unguarded Moment\u2019; a Top 30 single in both Australia + New Zealand. The track was described by Rolling Stone journalist David Fricke as a \u2018jangling gem\u2019. The single propelled the album to similarly peak in the Australian Top 30 in 1981. The album is now proudly pressed on 180-gram white vinyl to coincide with the 2024 tour.<\/p>\n

The Blurred Crusade<\/strong> \u2013 the second album was released in March 1982, less than a year after their debut. Again, produced by Bob Clearmountain and boasting the singles \u2018Almost With You\u2019 and \u2018When You Were Mine\u2019 \u2013 the album has gone on to be held in particularly high esteem with fans. In 2010, the recording was included in the \u2018100 Greatest Australian Albums publication\u2019. As described by Melody Maker at the time: \u2018Taking unusually uncool risks and carrying them off with poise and panache, The Church sound unbelievably confident, Kilbey’s fragile celebrations of the tricks and trials of the hedonistic human psyche hung in free prairies of wide-open space for the listener’s imagination to explore\u2019.<\/em> The album is now proudly pressed on 180-gram blue vinyl to coincide with the 2024 tour.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9ance<\/strong> \u2013 the third album was released in June 1983. Produced by the band and John Bee \u2013 it featured the singles \u2018Electric Lash\u2019 and \u2018It\u2019s No Reason\u2019. Described by Sounds Magazine at the time as \u2018quite simply timeless\u2019 \u2013 Seance is distinctive in the catalogue of The Church for the increased prominence of keyboards relative to previous recordings and its trademark drum sound. The album is now proudly pressed on 180-gram pink vinyl to coincide with the 2024 tour.<\/p>\n

Heyday<\/strong> \u2013 the fourth album was released in November 1985. Produced by Peter Walsh, singles from the album included \u2018Columbus\u2019, \u2018Tantalized\u2019 and \u2018Disenchanted\u2019. The album shows a continued evolution in the band \u2013 displaying an increased prominence of full group compositions in the tracklisting. David Fricke of Rolling Stone remarked at the time: \u2018As its title implies,\u00a0Heyday<\/em>\u00a0is prime Church. Go forth and dig it.\u2019 The album is now proudly pressed on 180-gram red vinyl to coincide with the 2024 tour.<\/p>\n
