Before they were known as the best rock band on earth, the former theatre students first formed Tenacious D back in the late ’90s in Los Angeles. No one could have ever dreamed of where the band’s genius would take them, but take them it did…<\/p>\n

Beloved by fans and critics worldwide, the Tenacious D journey includes a hit HBO variety series in 1999, a Platinum-certified self-titled album in 2001, and a feature film \u2013\u00a0Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 in 2006. 2012 release\u00a0Rize of the Fenix<\/em>\u00a0earned a GRAMMY\u00ae nomination for ‘Best Comedy Album’, the band taking home their first win in 2014 for ‘Best Metal Performance’.<\/p>\n

In 2013, Black and Gass created Los Angeles’ music and comedy event\u00a0Festival Supreme<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(which has featured the likes of Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords and more). 2018 delivered animated film\u00a0Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 which saw each frame hand-drawn by Black, and characters voiced by the band, who also recorded the accompanying soundtrack. A graphic novel completed the\u00a0Post-Apocalypto<\/em>\u00a0universe in 2020.<\/p>\n

It didn’t stop there: in 2021\/22, Tenacious D covered songs for charity and launched a fibre bars line. They continued their creative streak with\u00a0Words + Music | Vol. 29 | Tenacious D’s The Road To Redunktion<\/em>, an Audible Original featuring archival audio.<\/p>\n
