One of the things that\u00a0You Me At Six\u00a0<\/strong>discovered whilst making their blistering eighth album\u00a0\u2018Truth Decay\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>was that you don\u2019t really know where you\u2019re going if you don\u2019t know where you came from. As the dust settled on the triumphant campaign for 2021\u2019s\u00a0\u2018SUCKAPUNCH\u2019<\/strong>, the band\u2019s second UK Number One album,\u00a0Josh Franceschi<\/strong>\u00a0(lead vocals),\u00a0Max Helyer\u00a0<\/strong>(guitar),\u00a0Chris Miller<\/strong>\u00a0(guitar),\u00a0Matt Barnes<\/strong>\u00a0(bass) and\u00a0Dan Flint<\/strong>\u00a0(drums) regrouped and discussed ideas for their next move.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe album generally is the band doing all the things that we as a band think we\u2019re good at and just embellishing them and finessing those ideas and just trying to do retrospective, quintessential YMAS but in 2022 and give that a new lease of life,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>says Francheschi.<\/p>\n

With the upcoming release of\u00a0\u2018Truth Decay\u2019<\/strong>, the quintet have made a record that both celebrates and salutes a wildly successful career as one of British rock\u2019s biggest modern bands at the same time as plotting an exhilarating way forward. Having a clear sonic blueprint propelled them into a creative purple patch, with four or five song ideas taking shape every day during writing sessions. By the time they got to Black Rock Studios in Santorini to record with VI and\u00a0\u2018SUCKAPUNCH\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0producer\u00a0Dan Austin<\/strong>, they were laser focused.<\/p>\n

News of the album comes alongside the announcement of a European tour starting in February 2023 and a brand new track entitled\u00a0\u2018Mixed Emotions (I Didn’t Know How To Tell You What I Was Going Through)\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
