Seneca Valley High School classmates\u00a0Neil Fallon<\/strong>\u00a0(vocals),\u00a0Tim Sult<\/strong>\u00a0(guitar),\u00a0Dan Maines\u00a0<\/strong>(bass), and\u00a0Jean-Paul Gaster<\/strong>\u00a0(drums) share an unshakeable musical and personal bond now three decades strong. Shaped by the same region which birthed Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites Of Spring,\u00a0Clutch\u00a0<\/strong>crafts hyper-literate and libertine jams informed by hardcore fury and fuzzy, athletic, stoner rock.<\/p>\n

Today, those classmates announce\u00a0Sunrise On Slaughter Beach<\/em><\/strong>, the band’s thirteenth studio album – a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity.<\/p>\n

New bangers like “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone),” “Nosferatu Madre,” “Skeletons on Mars,” “Jackhammer Our Names,” and “Mercy Brown” take their rightful place alongside\u00a0Clutch\u00a0<\/strong>classics.\u00a0Sunrise On Slaughter Beach<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is the natural culmination of what\u00a0Clutch\u00a0<\/strong>began as teenagers in the early ’90s.<\/p>\n

Recorded at the\u00a0The Magpie Cage Recording Studio<\/strong>, Baltimore, MD, the album was produced and mixed by Grammy nominated\u00a0Tom Dalgety<\/strong>\u00a0(Ghost, Royal Blood, Pixies)\u00a0<\/em>with additional engineering by\u00a0J Robbins<\/strong>\u00a0(Jawbreaker, Against Me!, The Sword).<\/em><\/p>\n

    Clutch\u00a0<\/strong>have shared two new songs with fans so far. The first single,\u00a0“Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)<\/em>“<\/a>,\u00a0was released in April to much acclaim from fans and critics alike. The track has notched 415k streams on Spotify alone with the official music video clocking up 384k YouTube views. Last month, the group unveiled “We Strive For Excellence”<\/em>\u00a0which is closing in fast on 250k Spotify streams already. The track is available digitally from all DSPs\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Jean-Paul Gaster<\/strong>\u00a0initially thought album thirteen would be an opposite reaction to the polarisation and uncertainty of the pandemic years. Perhaps something more upbeat, in the vein of\u00a02013’s\u00a0Earth Rocker<\/em>.\u00a0“The more the songs took shape, the less I saw that kind of an album. Something different took shape. The record we ended up with is, in some ways, the most different record we’ve made in a long time.”<\/em><\/p>\n

    Sunrise On Slaughter Beach<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0introduces some “firsts” into the\u00a0Clutch\u00a0<\/strong>canon: vibraphone (from Gaster), theremin (J. Robbins), and female backup vocals from singers Deborah Bond and Frenchie Davis. The album’s nine songs are a diverse ride, destined to please long-time fans and intrigue newcomers alike. It’s a new chapter in an ever-unfolding story which means as much to the fans as it does to the band.<\/p>\n

    ABOUT CLUTCH<\/u>
    \nClutch<\/strong>\u00a0released their twelfth studio album,\u00a0Book Of Bad Decisions<\/em><\/strong>, through their own\u00a0Weathermaker Music<\/strong>\u00a0in 2018.\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0described the album as “bathed in the grit and liberal fuzz tone that has made their live shows legendary.<\/em>” The band embarked on a successful co-headlining tour with\u00a0Dropkick Murphys\u00a0in 2019, with support from\u00a0Hatebreed,\u00a0Amigo The Devil, and\u00a0Russ Rankin\u00a0of\u00a0Good Riddance.
