\"\"<\/a>Biffy Clyro<\/strong>\u00a0have shared a brand new track and video in the shape of\u00a0Balance, Not Symmetry.<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>It\u2019s the title track from the film of the same name, which frontman\u00a0Simon Neil<\/strong>\u00a0co-wrote with director\u00a0Jamie<\/strong>\u00a0Adams<\/strong>. To accompany the film,\u00a0Biffy Clyro<\/strong>\u00a0wrote a full album of original material which is out now.<\/p>\n

The 17-song\u00a0Balance, Not Symmetry<\/em>\u00a0explodes into life with the title track, which tightly packages Biffy\u2019s angular rhythms with the kind of sky-bound hook that they\u2019ve established as a hallmark of their sound. The track will be accompanied by an official video which will be released tomorrow. Also directed by Adams, it intercuts the band\u2019s visceral live performance with footage from the film.<\/p>\n

While the collection often explores Biffy\u2019s gift for arena-filling anthems on the likes of\u00a0All Singing and All Dancing<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0Tunnel and Trees<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Touch,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the album as a whole leans towards introspection and experimentation. The foreboding yet elegiac\u00a0Gates Of Heaven<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is quite unlike anything that the band have recorded before,\u00a0Colour Wheel<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0switches to a more ethereal ambience and\u00a0Touch<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0echoes the emotional power of previous Biffy classics such as\u00a0Many Of Horror<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Re-arrange<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The album also includes three mood-setting instrumentals (Pink<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0Navy Blue<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Yellow<\/em><\/strong>) plus a studio recording of\u00a0Different Kind of Love<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0which originally featured on last year\u2019s\u00a0MTV Unplugged<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0album. It was produced by\u00a0Adam Noble<\/strong>\u00a0(Nothing But Thieves, Liam Gallagher) and Biffy Clyro, and recorded at\u00a0AIR Studios, Monnow Valley Studio and ICP Studios. Fyfe Hutchins of Guillemots contributes piano to four tracks, while producer and DJ Jakwob is credited with programming and keys on\u00a0All Singing and All Dancing<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Filmed last summer in\u00a0Scotland<\/strong>, the\u00a0Balance, Not Symmetry<\/em>\u00a0film follows an American student who is living a privileged existence at Glasgow School of Art when her father unexpectedly dies. Consumed with her loss, she finds herself re-examining both her life and inner circle of friends. After a chance encounter, an unexpected sparks lights within her and she finds herself torn between two worlds.<\/p>\n
