\"\"<\/a>Frank Iero <\/strong>has signed with UNFD<\/strong> and is readying his third solo album BARRIERS<\/em><\/strong> for release on <\/a>May 31, 2019<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0Adopting the moniker, Frank Iero<\/strong> and the Future Violents<\/strong>, his latest band features longtime collaborator Evan Nestor<\/strong>, Matt Armstrong<\/strong> (ex-Murder by Death<\/em>), Tucker Rule<\/strong> (Thursday<\/em>) and Kayleigh Goldsworthy<\/strong> (Golds, Dave Hause, The Mermaid<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\u201cSuper excited to be joining the UNFD family,\u201d <\/em>said Iero about the signing. \u201cWe’ve known each other for a long time and the opportunity to be finally working together with people who really understand the project and believe in it is the greatest thing you could ever ask for.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Recorded and mixed by Steve Albini<\/strong>, the 14-track album is not only a deeply existential journey, but it is also a triumph for Iero in tackling some of the barriers and obstacles that stood in his creative path.\u00a0On the creation of Barriers, <\/em>Iero says, \u201cIt got me thinking about how we set up these obstacles around ourselves. Sometimes they\u2019re for protection and sometimes they\u2019re to keep people out, and sometimes we even set them up so that we fail and we find solace in that failure. But whenever I find something that scares the shit out of me, that\u2019s when I know I have to do it! And so these songs are about experiences that were either walls I wanted to break down or walls that I\u2019d built up around myself in order to protect myself. But these songs were also things that I\u2019d never attempted before but had always wanted to try.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In anticipation of Barriers\u2019<\/strong> <\/em>release, the first single, Young and Doomed,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will be released to all DSPs on<\/a>March 21<\/a><\/strong>.<\/a>\u00a0 The dark rock n\u2019 roll anthem will premiere on <\/a>Thursday, March 21<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on BBC<\/em><\/strong> Radio 1’s Future Sounds with Annie Mac<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A multi-faceted musician whose credits include solo albums as frnkiero and the cellabration<\/strong> (2014\u2019s Stomachaches<\/em>) and as Frank Iero and the Patience <\/strong>(2016\u2019s Parachutes<\/em>), Iero had cut his teeth in post-hardcore stalwarts Leatherface<\/strong>, Pency Prep<\/strong>, industrial duo Death Spells<\/strong> and the platinum-selling My Chemical Romance<\/strong>. \u201cThis is who I am. I create in order to survive. And every chance I get I\u2019m going to evolve and change,<\/em>\u201d he says. \u201cThe ambition is to be for these songs to be perceived without any kind of past notion of what the project is supposed to sound like, to break down any and all boundaries and barriers that we\u2019ve set up or that other people have set up for us. We really did go in and create something brand new for ourselves and that\u2019s been such a challenge and fun undertaking.\u201d
