Their first local headline jaunt\u00a0since 2017, POND will tour in support of their forthcoming\u00a0album\u00a0<\/strong>Tasmania<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, available\u00a0Friday 1 March<\/strong>\u00a0via\u00a0Spinning Top Records | Caroline.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Following the Australian tour, the band\u00a0<\/strong>will travel to Europe to perform\u00a0festival sets at\u00a0Primavera\u00a0<\/strong>in Spain, OYA\u00a0<\/strong>in Norway and\u00a0We The Green<\/strong>\u00a0in France.<\/p>\n

New single\u00a0Daisy<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0opens the record with a mournful string section as if forewarning some bitter end, before the curtains come back on an alt-pop anthem that sees frontman Allbrook imagining his childhood friends and family in the Kimberley region.<\/p>\n

Tasmania<\/em>\u00a0is POND’s dejected meditation on planetary discord, water, machismo, shame, blame and responsibility, love, blood and empire, all wrapped in luxurious, funky prog-pop, produced and mixed by?\u00a0Kevin Parker\u00a0<\/strong>and POND.\u00a0 \u00a0Featuring the aforementioned\u00a0Daisy<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, recent single\u00a0Sixteen Days<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0and lead track\u00a0Burnt Out Star<\/em>,<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0their eighth LP is some kind of sister missive to their 2017 opus The Weather.<\/p>\n

POND possess an ever-expanding performance resum\u00e9, having toured with\u00a0Arctic Monkeys, MGMT\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Flaming Lips.<\/strong>\u00a0They stunned at premiere musical festivals around the world including\u00a0Primavera, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Reading and Leeds, The Governors Ball, South by Southwest, St Jerome\u2019s Laneway, Splendour In The Grass<\/strong>and more, and have sold out countless venues around the globe from\u00a0New York\u2019s Bowery Ballroom<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0Paris\u2019 La Gaite Lyrique\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0London\u2019s O2 Forum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
