\"\"<\/a>BUTCH WALKER<\/strong> is a singer, songwriter, and producer whose skills run from radio-friendly pop to high-attitude hard rock. Walker launched his public career with the band SOUTHGANG<\/strong><\/a>, who inked a contract with Virgin Records. The hard rock band group released two albums before splitting up, and Walker<\/a> eventually resurfaced with MARVELOUS 3<\/strong><\/a>. Walker gained a brief taste of major-label success during the ’80s and ’90s — particularly with MARVELOUS 3<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> whose single “Freak of the Week”<\/em><\/strong> became a modern rock hit in 1999 — Walker<\/a> traded his bandmates for a solo career. Meanwhile, he also established himself as an in-demand producer by working with high-profile artists like Avril Lavigne<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> and P!nk<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The production work increased his reputation within the industry, and he quickly signed a solo contract with Arista. Left of Self Centered<\/em><\/strong><\/a> marked his solo debut in 2002; embodying the singer’s nonconformist attitude and playful rock & roll swagger. This was followed by 2004\u2019s Letters <\/em><\/strong>which was released on Epic!<\/p>\n

The production work kept rolling in and was at the helm for some for such big-name artists as Avril Lavigne<\/strong><\/a> (Under My Skin<\/a>), P!nk<\/strong><\/a> (I’m Not Dead<\/a>), and Tommy Lee<\/strong><\/a> (Tommyland: The Ride<\/a>). The experience further boosted his industry profile and helped shape the sound of his next solo album, 2006’s The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker<\/em><\/strong> and the Let’s-Go-Out-Tonites<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. The album spun stories of drugged-out starlets, struggling wannabes, late-night adventures, and wild parties in L.A.; it was also Walker<\/a>‘s most fully realized record to date. Ever the multitasker, he returned to the production booth for several new projects — most notably Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a>‘s <\/strong>One of the Boys<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which became a smash success during the summer of 2008 — before returning to his solo career that fall with Sycamore Meadows<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart<\/em><\/strong><\/a> followed in 2010 and featured a new backup band, the Black Widows<\/strong><\/a>. The new group also played on Walker<\/a>‘s next album, Spade<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which appeared 2011; that same year, he published an autobiography called Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt<\/em><\/strong>. Walker<\/a> did some production work in the next two years — he showed up on Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>‘s 2012 album Red<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and helmed Fall Out Boy<\/strong><\/a>‘s 2013 comeback Save Rock and Roll<\/em><\/strong><\/a> — and teamed with producer Ryan Adams<\/em><\/strong><\/a> for his next solo album, 2015’s Afraid of Ghosts<\/strong><\/a>. His production credits don\u2019t stop there he has steered the ship for Panic! At The Disco, Gavin DeGraw, Keith Urban, Weezer, Carley Rae Jepsen, The Wombats <\/strong>and many many more\u2026<\/p>\n

After producing the solo debut for Gaslight Anthem<\/strong><\/a> leader Brian Fallon<\/strong><\/a> Painkillers<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, Walker<\/a> returned to the studio to cut another solo effort, the country-accented 2016 effort Stay Gold<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Walker is also an incredible songwriter and many of his songs have been hits for other artists, including Avril Lavigne<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Sevendust<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Injected<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>The Donnas<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Hot Hot Heat<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>American Hi-Fi<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Default<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Gob<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Midtown<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Puffy AmiYumi<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Pete Yorn<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Fall Out Boy<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Quietdrive<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>The All-American Rejects<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>SR-71<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>The Academy Is…<\/strong><\/a> and recently The Cab<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Saosin<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Never Shout Never<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Weezer<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Dashboard Confessional<\/strong><\/a> and All Time Low<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
