\"\"<\/a>Legendary Memphis country punk-rock band Lucero\u00a0have today announced their first ever headline tour of Australia. Today also sees\u00a0Lucero drop their new studio album Ghosts Among Us worldwide.<\/p>\n

Lucero has long been admired in their hometown of Memphis, where they have hosted \u201cThe Lucero Family Block Party\u201d every spring for a number of years. At the 2018 Block Party they celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band, with the city\u2019s Mayor Jim Strickland officially declaring it \u201cLucero Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been two decades since original members Ben Nichols, Brian Venable, Roy Berry, and John C. Stubblefield (keyboardist Rick Steff joined in 2006) started playing shows in Memphis. The band\u2019s first show in 1998 playing 6 songs 6 people at a warehouse space across the street from what is now the National Civil Rights Museum, the infamous Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was shot.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s ninth studio album,\u00a0Among the Ghosts, is their first for noted Nashville indie label Thirty Tigers. It was recorded and co-produced with Grammy-winning engineer\/producer and Memphis native Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Drive by Truckers) at the historic Sam Phillips Recording Service. The studio that was built by the legendary producer after outgrowing his Memphis Recording Service\/Sun Studio.<\/p>\n

This run of headline shows, the band third time in Australia (following an appearance on Soundwave Festival and supporting celtic punk rock act Dropkick Murphys) will finally give diehard Lucero fans the chance to experience the acclaimed act in intimate venues playing full length sets.<\/p>\n
