\"\"<\/a>While\u00a0Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes<\/strong>\u00a0have been around for barely three years, the main man\u00a0Frank Carter<\/strong>\u00a0has been both musically and artistically on any true hardcore fans radar for quite a while. It has now been thirteen years since he started\u00a0Gallows<\/strong>, which he later left and\u00a0Pure Love<\/strong>\u00a0was formed seven years ago before\u00a0Carter\u00a0<\/strong>took his own name into play and added a backing band of great UK musicians calling them his Rattlesnakes. After a sold out string of Aussie shows during his last visit, tonight we were in for a treat.<\/p>\n

The Beverly Chills<\/strong>\u00a0were an opening act of the night. Melbourne’s own lo-fi, fuzzy punk duo, consisting of singer and guitarist, the band was entertaining enough to bop my head along to\u00a0‘Loner’<\/em>, their most recent single. Green mullet haired singer,\u00a0Twiggy Hunter<\/strong>, hopped into the crowd for a good five minutes and the folks seemed to really dig it. I have never seen or heard these guys before, but they’d be a perfect discovery for the fans of\u00a0Gooch Palms<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Dune Rats<\/strong>\u00a0alike.<\/p>\n

Cancer Bats<\/strong>\u00a0were up next! Good lord, these Canadians sure know how to party, easily the best support band show of the year for me (so far). Charismatic, chaotic and totally memorable –\u00a0Liam Cormier’s<\/strong>\u00a0vocals resonated in my head long after the band was done playing, both charming and kooky the singer got the crowd going with a solid set list of top songs from across the band’s five studio albums, including : ‘Hail Destroyer’, ‘Pneumonia Hawk’, ‘Lucifer’s Rocking Chair’<\/em>\u00a0and with extremely spot on Sabbath-like rocking guitars –\u00a0‘Children of the Grave’<\/em>(Black Sabbath<\/strong>\u00a0cover). Confirming their kookiness the band also played\u00a0‘Sabotage’<\/em>\u00a0by The\u00a0Beastie Boys<\/strong>\u00a0and happily greeted fans at the merch desk after their set.<\/p>\n

While not sold out and not completely full, the venue did seem packed enough to provide a good starting point for some crowd surfing action. Highly anticipated entrance by the man himself,\u00a0Frank Carter\u00a0<\/strong>witnessed the fans go nuts!\u00a0Carter <\/strong>walked out wearing plastic heart shaped sunglasses and head to toe\u00a0Gucci<\/u>\u00a0swag. A see through t-shirt made his tattoo-covered body glisten in yellow spotlight of the stage. Starting off with\u00a0‘Primary Explosive’\u00a0<\/em>and literally jumping onto\u00a0‘Fangs’ <\/em>The Rattlesnakes<\/strong>\u00a0delivered really good sound throughout the whole show, but all eyes were on\u00a0Carter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After calming down punters with a bit of a chatter :\u00a0“I know you are excited coz we are from England, palest lads you’ve ever seen.”<\/em>\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0dedicated\u00a0‘Wild Flowers’<\/em>\u00a0to all the women in the audience, so the ladies could partake in crowdsurfing, safely and to their own enjoyment. I mentally thanked\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0for being nice enough to take a stand against the\u00a0“misogynistic scum”\u00a0<\/em>that music industry worldwide turns out to be.<\/p>\n

During\u00a0‘Juggernaut’<\/em>\u00a0the fans gotten fairly rowdy and\u00a0‘Vampires’<\/em>\u00a0moved\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0from the stage into the crowd. Legs up,\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0struggled at first to get his spot on top of his fans, but he did end up directing the crowd to do whatever the hell he wanted them to do. Returning to stage,\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0paused the show while spotted in the crowd, security led a fan out of the venue.<\/p>\n

“That’s what happens If you harass a lady at my show, you have to leave.”<\/em>\u00a0When everyone seemed to quieten down\u00a0Carter<\/strong>\u00a0dedicated next song to\u00a0“the one person I love back home” –<\/em>\u00a0his daughter. The song was\u00a0‘Lullaby’<\/em>\u00a0and the flock of adoring fans sang it back to the him.<\/p>\n

Continuing this very late show with a variety of songs across a variety of his records and bands:<\/p>\n

‘God Is My Friend’, ‘Modern Ruin’, ‘Snake Eyes’ and ‘Devil Inside Me’<\/em>\u00a0to name a few.<\/p>\n
