\"\"<\/a>Legendary Australian rock band\u00a0Horsehead\u00a0have signed with\u00a0powerhouse independent record label\u00a0Golden\u00a0Robot Records\u00a0who\u00a0will be re-releasing the band\u2019s\u00a0catalogue and previously unreleased material internationally throughout 2018. The band\u2019s\u00a0first two albums,\u00a0Horsehead\u00a0and\u00a0Onism, will also be made available digitally for the first time ever!<\/p>\n

Also planned for release are an album of B-sides, the band\u2019s\u00a01999 Triple J Live At the Wirelessset, and\u00a0The Lost Album,\u00a0a collection of tracks never released!\u00a0\u00a0Golden Robot Records\u00a0will also issue a full vinyl boxset to be called\u00a0The Legacy,\u00a0featuring liner notes by veteran music writer\u00a0Jeff Jenkins.<\/p>\n

\u201cHorsehead\u00a0are my all-time favourite band,\u201d Jeff says. \u201cThe shortest review I\u2019ve ever written was a Horsehead live review. It said simply,\u00a0\u2018If there\u2019s a better band in this world, I\u2019d love to see it.\u2019Twenty-five years later, I stand by that statement. I am beyond excited that Mark and his team at Golden Robot Records are giving the Horsehead catalogue the respect it deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Golden Robot Records\u00a0founder,\u00a0Mark Alexander-Erber,\u00a0has been a longtime fan of the band and his passion for Australian rock knows no limit. Mark approached the band to be part of the label and says of the signing, \u201cHorsehead\u00a0have always been one of my all-time favourite Aussie bands over the past 30 years so I reached out to the band and after many months of dealings with various record labels and all the band, we ended up in a great spot where GRR can take the legacy of the band into the future. We have some very special things planned and I couldn\u2019t be more excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABOUT HORSEHEAD<\/strong>
\nHorsehead\u00a0burst onto the Australian rock scene in 1992, their members coming\u00a0together\u00a0from several iconic bands to produce something much greater than the sum of their parts and featuredScott Kingman\u00a0(ex-Cattletruck) on guitar,\u00a0Cameron McKenzie\u00a0on guitar and\u00a0Andy McLean\u00a0on vocals\u00a0(both ex-21 Guns), bassist\u00a0Mick Vallance\u00a0(Boom Crash Opera) and drummer\u00a0Max\u00a0Waugh\u00a0(Uncanny X-Men).<\/p>\n

They released three albums,\u00a0Horsehead\u00a0(1993),\u00a0Onism\u00a0(1996) and\u00a0Goodbye Mothership\u00a0(1999), before disbanding in 2000. Their hard rock was injected with melodic hooks and stadium-sized riffs that saw them become one\u00a0of the most prolific bands of the \u201890s.<\/p>\n

They performed at the\u00a01993\u00a0Big Day Out\u00a0and a few days later opened for\u00a0Skid Row\u00a0and\u00a0Guns N\u2019 Roses\u00a0in Melbourne. The video for their debut single\u00a0Oil and Water\u00a0won best rock video at that year\u2019s Kerrang! Awards.<\/p>\n

Horsehead\u00a0toured the nation on their own and with the\u00a0Hoodoo Gurus,\u00a0Baby Animals,\u00a0The Screaming Jets\u00a0and\u00a0Midnight Oil\u00a0among many others.<\/p>\n

The band were part of\u00a01995\u2019s\u00a0Alternative Nation Festival\u00a0which also featured\u00a0Tool. Tool\u2019s manager recommended their producer, Sylvia Massy, and just 5 months later the band were in LA recording their second album,\u00a0Onism, with Massy. Tours came thick and fast with the likes of\u00a0The Tea Party,\u00a0The Angels\u00a0and\u00a0Divinyls.<\/p>\n

In 1997 they released\u00a0The Golden Cow Collection\u00a0EP via Shock Records, toured with\u00a0Live\u00a0in Australia and New Zealand and opened for\u00a0Alice Cooper. They then teamed up with\u00a0The Angels\u00a0and\u00a0The Screaming Jets\u00a0for the\u00a0Barbed Wire Ball\u00a0tour of Australia.<\/p>\n

1998 saw them open for\u00a0Metallica\u00a0for ten dates around Australia on their Pour Re-Touring Me tour.\u00a0 They then released their third album,\u00a0Goodbye Mothership, and performed their 400th show. They also appeared on\u00a0Hey Hey It\u2019s\u00a0Saturday\u00a0and played an eight-song set on\u00a0Triple J\u2019s Live At the Wireless.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the release of the double single\u00a0Bounce Back\u00a0and\u00a0Procrastinator\u00a0in 2000,Horsehead\u00a0decided amicably to break up and go their separate ways.\u00a0Until now…<\/p>\n
