The 11-time Grammy-winning, 25+ million-record-selling stadium rock greats will welcome the new year with an epic tour that kicks off at Perth’s nib Stadium on Saturday 20 January, before touring Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and wrapping up across the ditch at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday 3 February.<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters will be joined at all shows by very special guests\u00a0Weezer<\/a>, plus a local opener from each city on the tour.<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters were last in Australia and New Zealand on their 20th Anniversary World Tour supporting their eighth album\u00a0Sonic Highways<\/em>, tearing through anthems including ‘Something From Nothing<\/a>‘\u00a0and perennial favorites\u00a0‘Everlong’<\/a>,\u00a0‘Learn To Fly’<\/a>,\u00a0‘Best Of You’<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0‘My Hero’<\/a>, picking up the record as one of 2015’s top five grossing tours in the process:<\/p>\n

Available for pre-order\u00a0here<\/a>,\u00a0Concrete and Gold<\/em>\u00a0is the newest Foo Fighters music since 2015’s\u00a0Saint Cecilia\u00a0<\/em>EP and the band’s first full-length album in three years.\u00a0\u00a0Concrete and Gold<\/em>\u00a0sees Foo Fighters add new dimensions to their trademark hard melodic rock n roll.<\/p>\n

The public’s first taste of the new album came in the form of the most enthusiastically received single in Foo Fighters history, the surprise hard rock anthem of the year “Run”, and its time-traveling mind-warp of a\u00a0video\u00a0<\/a>directed by Dave Grohl himself.<\/p>\n

The clip for follow-up single,\u00a0‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’\u00a0<\/a>was a Grohl family affair, with Dave sitting in the director’s chair once more and his two daughters Violet and Harper playing the lead roles in the\u00a0‘rock and roll fairytale’\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(Rolling Stone)\u00a0video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia, Pink) at the helm,\u00a0Concrete and Gold\u00a0<\/em>seamlessly combines hard rock extremes and pop sensibilities across those singles and nine more incredible tracks:<\/p>\n

American alt-rockers\u00a0Weezer\u00a0<\/strong>will be leaving\u00a0‘Beverly Hills’<\/a>\u00a0behind to join Foo Fighters as their very special guests at all Australian and New Zealand shows on the\u00a0Concrete And Gold<\/em>\u00a0World Tour. These will be Weezer’s first shows in our countries since their acclaimed\u00a0Blue Album Memories<\/em>\u00a0shows in 2013, and only their third AU & NZ tour ever in an illustrious 25+ year career defined by tracks like\u00a0‘Say It Ain’t So’<\/a>,\u00a0‘Buddy Holly’<\/a>,\u00a0‘Undone \u2013 The Sweater Song’<\/a>, and\u00a0‘Island In The Sun’<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The release of Weezer’s eleventh studio album\u00a0Pacific Daydream<\/em>\u00a0is slated for Friday 27 October through Warner Music, with lead singles\u00a0‘Feels Like Summer’\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0‘Mexican Fender’\u00a0<\/a>already receiving buzz from fans and critics alike.<\/p>\n

Each Australian and New Zealand show will feature a local opener \u2013<\/p>\n

Surf punk three-piece\u00a0Cosmic Kahuna<\/a>\u00a0will open the\u00a0Perth<\/strong>\u00a0show. Their mix of punk rock attitude and heavy metal riffs, bound together by the true grit of rock and roll, will get your blood pumping from the very first riff.<\/p>\n

Amyl and the Sniffers<\/a>\u00a0will open the\u00a0Adelaide<\/strong>\u00a0show. Since forming last year, the quartet has dished out their short, fast and much-loved punk rock to packed-out pubs across the country.<\/p>\n

DZ Deathrays<\/a>\u00a0will once again join Foo Fighters on tour, opening their\u00a0Brisbane<\/strong>\u00a0show. The Brisbane thrash\/party duo opened two shows on Foo Fighters’ 2011 tour and are back to treat audiences to their electrifying sound once more.<\/p>\n

Revered rockers\u00a0The Preatures<\/a>\u00a0will open the\u00a0Sydney\u00a0<\/strong>show, kicking off proceedings with a visceral live performance that has earned them a reputation of one of Australia’s most-acclaimed live acts.<\/p>\n

Known and loved for their wild and chaotic live performances, hardcore outfit\u00a0Clowns<\/a>will open the\u00a0Melbourne<\/strong>\u00a0show. The crowd will bear witness to a performance that is equal parts dangerous and frivolous, strap in.<\/p>\n

Dynamic and driving Wellington punk band\u00a0Ayn Randy<\/a>\u00a0will open the\u00a0Auckland<\/strong>\u00a0show. With a sound duly spiked with shout-a-long hooks, expect a set filled with plenty of urgent punk on rip-roaring songs.<\/p>\n
