It will be the first time\u00a0Cold Chisel\u00a0<\/strong>has played in Tasmania since their massive\u00a0Light The Nitro Tour\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>back in 2011 (which remains the biggest grossing tour ever by an Australian-based band). 2015\u2019sOne Night Stand Tour<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was unable to get to Tasmania so this announcement marks an overdue payback for Taswegians.<\/p>\n

Renowned as one of the most dynamic Australian live acts ever,\u00a0Cold Chisel\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0Jimmy Barnes<\/strong>\u00a0(lead vocals),\u00a0Ian Moss<\/strong>\u00a0(lead guitar\/vocals),\u00a0Don Walker<\/strong>\u00a0(keyboards\/backing vocals),\u00a0Phil Small<\/strong>(bass guitar) and\u00a0Charley Drayton<\/strong>\u00a0(drums\/vocals) – will perform their iconic hits such as\u00a0Flame Trees, Khe Sanh, Cheap Wine, Rising Sun<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Bow River<\/em>, as well as songs from their recent gold and platinum certified albums\u00a0No Plans\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and\u00a0The Perfect Crime<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0is one of Australia\u2019s most revered rock outfits, with a history that spans forty years and a catalogue of songs and albums that have become part of the nation’s psyche.<\/p>\n

“We tried everything to get to Tassie in 2015, but events and schedules conspired against us,<\/em>” says guitarist Ian Moss. “We owe you one Tasmania – and now it’s payback time!”<\/em><\/p>\n

The band will be supported by Melbourne rockers\u00a0Dallas Crane<\/strong>, in a rare Tasmanian appearance.<\/p>\n

This one-off\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0gig will follow hot on the heels of the band’s biggest live release ever as it was also announced today that\u00a0The ‘Last Stand’ of the Sydney Entertainment Centre – The Live Tapes – Vol 4<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will land on\u00a0Friday, 10 November, 2017<\/strong>. The 32 songs on this release will be drawn from the band’s final two unhinged and emotional shows immediately prior to the iconic venue\u2019s demolition in 2015. The Sydney \u201cEnt Cent\u201d also famously hosted the band’s 1983\u00a0Last Stand<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0concerts, so these memorable farewell gigs captured the public\u2019s imagination, selling over 20,000 tickets within minutes.<\/p>\n

Fans who missed out on tickets at the time will now finally have a chance to see and hear\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0in all its ragged glory as they literally bring down the house. The release can be pre-ordered now on a number of formats – as a 3CD set, a 4 LP Vinyl package and a Ltd Edition 3CD\/DVD set.
