Luckily,\u00a0Bird’s Robe<\/strong>\u00a0(who brought them Down Under for their tremendously successful maiden voyage in 2015) are bringing them again to showcase their extensive back catalog\u00a0and their new album\u00a0Visuals<\/strong><\/em>. Presented by The Music<\/strong>, Bird’s Robe<\/strong> & Australian Mew fan community Mewstralia<\/strong>, the tour will take place in September 2017. Tickets go on sale this\u00a0Friday 30th June\u00a0at Oztix and\u00a0birdsrobe.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They are once again hitting\u00a0Brisbane<\/strong>\u00a0(September 10\u00a0at The Triffid),\u00a0Sydney<\/strong>\u00a0(September 11\u00a0at Manning Bar) and\u00a0Melbourne<\/strong>\u00a0(September 12\u00a0at Max Watts), but for the first time ever, MEW will be venturing to\u00a0Perth\u00a0<\/strong>(September 13\u00a0at Capitol).<\/p>\n

Bird’s Robe Director Mike Solo was ecstatic to bring MEW to Australia once again. “I truly thought that the 2015 tour might have been a once in a lifetime experience. I am stoked – and I know that are plenty of Mew fans out there who will be too – that MEW are coming to Australia again and to be a part of making that happen. These shows are going to be very special. Their show has only gone from strength to strength since “+ –<\/em>”\u00a0we will be helping them put together an even better production this time round<\/em>.\u00a0Thanks once again to Mewstralia and all the fans here whose passionate support has been so instrumental in helping this return happen.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Recorded and self-produced in Copenhagen, MEW’s latest album and the reason for this new tour, Visuals<\/em><\/strong> was completed in under a year and sees Mew at their most concise, each song representing its own little chapter and narrative.\u00a0Twenty years into their career, Visuals<\/em><\/strong> is the distinctive sound of Mew seizing the moment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Mew formed as a quartet in late 1994 and following their debut \u2018A Triumph for Man\u2019 in 1997, they quickly established cult status. Their commercial break-through came in 2003 with the release of \u201cFrengers\u201d \u2013 showcasing their unique and quirky approach to crafting classic pop melodies. The record saw them tour with R.E.M. before continuing with 2005\u2019s \u2018And The Glass Handed Kites\u2019. \u00a0Their 2009 opus \u2018No More Stories Are Told Today, I\u2019m Sorry They Washed Away \/\/ No More Stories, The World is Grey, I\u2019m Tired, Let\u2019s Wash Away\u2019 continued their ever expansive musical backdrop. Their record \u201c+-\u201c saw them reach the heights of indie-rock stardom, headlining London\u2019s Roundhouse and performing at festivals like Roskilde, Pukkelpop and Summer Sonic and\u00a0one of the band\u2019s biggest fans, Kiwi songstress KIMBRA<\/strong>, brought further buzz to the band when she featured on tracks \u2018The Night Believer\u2019 and \u2019Water Slides.\u2019.<\/p>\n
