\"Switchfoot\"<\/a>Multi-platinum selling alternative rock band SWITCHFOOT<\/strong> announced their upcoming album, Where The Light Shines Through<\/em><\/strong>, \u00a0be released on July 8th<\/sup>, 2016 via Spinefarm\/Vanguard Records.\u00a0 Where The Light Shines Through<\/em><\/strong>, the band’s tenth album and the first since 2014\u2019s highly acclaimed Fading West<\/em><\/strong>, was produced in collaboration with John Fields, who helmed the multi-platinum breakthrough The<\/em><\/strong> Beautiful Letdown<\/em><\/strong>. T<\/em>he band have also shared the\u00a0<\/em>premiere of their new video for single \u201cFloat\u201d <\/strong>via VEVO.\u00a0 The video was shot March 28, 2016 in Manila and features the band performing in the streets with a local crowd growing larger and larger as the song progresses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have an amazing connection with the Philippines, especially since I\u2019m Filipino\u201d <\/em>says guitarist and keyboardist Jerome Fontamillas<\/strong>, \u201cso when we decided to film the video for \u201cFloat\u201d right outside Manila, it was truly a special moment for me. Not only did we film it a few miles from where I was born, but we were able to immerse ourselves into the Filipino culture and way of life. We learned that no matter what their living conditions are, Filipinos know how to embrace life, make the most of their circumstances, and just have a good time!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This album marks an important milestone in the band\u2019s hugely successful career.\u00a0SWITCHFOOT\u2019s<\/strong> journey began in 1997 with the first of three indie releases before signing with a major label in 2003.\u00a0 Since then, the San Diego, CA based outfit have sold 5.7 million copies worldwide of their nine studio albums (including 2003\u2019s The Beautiful Letdown<\/em><\/strong> and 2009\u2019s GRAMMY Award-winning, Hello Hurricane<\/em><\/strong>).\u00a0 Where The Light Shines Through<\/em><\/strong> marks the band’s return to the indie world and showcases that, two decades from their start, they’re able to have a career filled with longevity, revitalization and rejuvenation.<\/p>\n
