Over his 50 year career, <strong>Tom Jones<\/strong> has sold over 100 million records, won a Grammy and two Brit Awards and given us countless hits including; <em>\u2018It&#8217;s Not Unusual\u2019, \u2018Delilah\u2019 ,\u2018Green, Green Grass of Home\u2019,\u00a0 \u2018What\u2019s New Pussycat\u2019 , \u2018She&#8217;s a Lady\u2019,\u00a0 \u2018Kiss\u2019, \u2018Mama Told Me\u2019, \u2018Thunderball\u2019, \u2018Burning Down The House\u2019 <\/em>, <em>\u2018Sex Bomb\u2019, \u2018I\u2019ll Never Fall In Love Again\u2019<\/em> and \u2018<em>If I Only Knew\u2019.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Also headlining this announcement, and in another first for Bluesfest, is one of the most talented songwriters in modern Rock, <strong>Noel Gallagher<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>who<strong> <\/strong>will be performing at Bluesfest with his band, the <strong>High Flying Birds<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Noel Gallagher<\/strong>, the principal songwriter, lead guitarist &amp; vocalist for multi-platinum, award winning mega band Oasis is also making his Bluesfest debut, having headlined a number of major festivals this year, including T in the Park, Latiitude, Hydrogen, London\u2019s Calling Festival, Benicassim and Fuji Rock.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Portland\u2019s finest,<strong> The Decemberists<\/strong>, the hugely successful and inspiring Indie Folk Rock band will be making their Bluesfest debut in 2016. Their career spans over more than a decade and with their songs ranging from upbeat Pop to instrumental ballads, <strong>The Decemberists<\/strong> have charmed audiences all over the world with their eclectic live shows.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The second announcement also includes some of the brightest stars of the next generation, with American Alternative \/ Classic Country &amp; Southern Rock singer-songwriter <strong>Jason Isbell <\/strong>returning to Bluesfest. Jason\u2019s album <em>Something More Than Free <\/em>went No. 1 on three (yes, that\u2019s three!) different Billboard charts \u2013 Rock, Folk and Country. In 2014 <strong>Jason<\/strong> <strong>Isbell<\/strong> achieved a clean sweep at the Americana Awards, winning all three awards he was nominated for: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Also added to the Bluesfest line up is the hugely talented and rising star, Alternative Country artist <strong>Sturgill Simpson<\/strong>, who has been heralded as the next Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash all rolled into one.\u00a0 It was his year (after Jason Isbell scored big in 2014) to clean up at the recent 2015 Americana Awards, taking out the Artist of the Year award and Song of the Year award for <em>\u2018Turtles All The Way Down\u2019<\/em>. This year Sturgill also won Best Album, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist in the Nashville Scene Country Music Critics Poll &amp; came in second for Artist of the Year and third for Best Live Act. <strong>Sturgill Simpson <\/strong>has become a significant addition to all signature festivals including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and the upcoming Austin City Limits.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Wilco<\/strong> front man <strong>Jeff Tweedy, <\/strong>who is one of contemporary American music\u2019s most accomplished songwriters, musicians and performers will be coming to Bluesfest as <strong>Tweedy<\/strong>; a musical collaboration with his young adult son, drummer <strong>Spencer Tweedy. <\/strong>Father and son<strong> <\/strong>have been performing together since 2014 and have recently released <em>Sukierae,<\/em> an album full of great depth and richness. Bluesfest, being hailed the perfect father &amp; son event on many occasions will be the perfect fit for this father &amp; son duo!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Steve Earle<\/strong>, American Rock, Country and Folk singer (as well as one of America&#8217;s most celebrated storytellers and activists) and his long-time backup band <strong>The Dukes<\/strong> will be returning to Bluesfest for two unforgettable performances. His latest release <em>Terraplane<\/em> (2015) charted higher than his trademark <em>Copperhead Road<\/em>. <em>Terraplane<\/em> peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues charts, No 2. on the Billboard Folk albums chart, No 3. on the Billboard Country albums chart, debuted at No 39. on the Billboard 200. <strong>Steve Earle <\/strong>has had a massive career spanning over many decades with multiple awards under his belt. This will be his<strong> <\/strong>sixth visit to Bluesfest!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Jamaican Reggae icons <strong>The Wailers<\/strong>, led by legendary bassist Aston \u2018Family Man\u2019 who has always been the <strong>The Wailers<\/strong> band leader, will be coming to Bluesfest for four consecutive shows and each set will be completely different from the other!\u00a0 Over four massive nights at Bluesfest <strong>The Wailers<\/strong> will be performing one of their classic albums in entirety each night including; <em>Exodus<\/em>, <em>Survival, Uprising<\/em> and <em>Legend<\/em>(the best-selling Reggae album of all time) plus the big hits like \u2018<em>No Woman, No Cry\u2019, \u2018Redemption Song\u2019, \u2018Is this Love\u2019<\/em>, and more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Grace Potter<\/strong> is returning to Bluesfest with her sultry vocals, commanding stage presence and this time around, along with crowd favourites including \u2018<em>Paris (Oh La La)\u2019, \u2018Stars\u2019, <\/em>&amp; <em>\u2018The Lion, The Beast, The Beat\u2019, <\/em>will be bringing the latest from her first solo album <em>Midnight.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">In another Bluesfest debut, <strong>Lord Huron<\/strong>, the rising Indie Folk band from the US, is joining Bluesfest\u2019s 2<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">nd<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> artist announcement. <strong>Lord Huron,<\/strong>which begun as a solo project by Ben Schneider, has grown into a band with a big following all over the world; their latest album <em>Strange Tails<\/em>went to No. 10 in the Billboard top album charts and No. 1 in the Billboard Folk charts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">World\/Folk\/Hip-Hop\/Roots music collective<strong> Nahko and Medicine For The People, <\/strong>known for their unrelentingly positive and energetic shows absolutely blew the Bluesfest crowd away in 2014 and<strong> <\/strong>will be sharing their spiritual, socially conscious message at Bluesfest once again next Easter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">American Rhythm and Blues band <strong>Vintage Trouble<\/strong> just finished their special guest spot for the legendary <strong>AC\/DC<\/strong> on their <em>Rock Or Bust World Tour<\/em>. Their new album <em>1 Hopeful Rd.<\/em> is currently No. 14 on the BBC UK Album Charts. Vintage Trouble is set to rock the socks off Bluesfest goers with their very own \u2018live-wired, straight-shootin\u2019, dirty brand of Blues Rock that has audiences all over the world wanting more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Blues man <strong>Lucky Peterson,<\/strong> who released his first record at five years old in 1969, discovered by Blues legend Willie Dixon, will also be making his Bluesfest debut in 2016.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>eMDee<\/strong>, hailing from Australia\u2019s top end, will be taking a short break from his season at the Sydney Royal Easter show to deliver a mind blowing performance on the didgeridoo that has to be seen to be believed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Expanding the definition of Southern Rock, <strong>Blackberry Smoke<\/strong> is one of America&#8217;s hottest live Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Roll outfits &amp; a grass-roots phenomenon. They\u2019ve shared the stage with ZZ Top, Zac Brown Band &amp; Lynyrd Skynyrd. We are proud to present Noel Gallagher&#8217;s High Flying Birds for the first time at Bluesfest. They have headlined on festivals including Fuji Rock (Japan &#8211; twice), T in the Park (Scotland), Latitude (UK), Roskilde (Netherlands), Coachella (USA), Isle of Wight (UK), and Big Day Out on their last tour in January 2012 &#8211; plus squillions of others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">I don&#8217;t just love The Decemberists &#8211; I am madly in love with their music. They are amongst the best, if not THE best band to EVER come from Portland, Oregon, my former home when I lived in the US. I have been attempting to get them to play Bluesfest for many years &#8211; and finally they are coming for the first time. Their music is creative, it&#8217;s quirky &#8211; maybe a little weird, like Portland itself. They may be described as Indie Folk, however I prefer to describe them as one of the most interesting bands today. If you mixed REM, The Pogues, Neko Case, The Avett Brothers and maybe Morissey and a strong British Folk Music influence, you would kinda get the idea. Although he is well known for hits, he is first and foremost an artist with a true Rhythm and Blues soul. He has remained a vital recording artist, with his 1999 album<em> Reload<\/em> the biggest selling (5m) of his then 35-year career and he has sold over 100 million records, an impressive feat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Tom was knighted by Her Majesty the Queen in 2006, an honour he was able to celebrate once again in 2012 when he performed at the Queens Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace. Other highlights of his long career include receiving a BRIT Award for Best Male and Outstanding Contribution to Music, a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Hitmaker Award from the [US] Songwriters Hall of Fame, GQ Man Of The Year, and the prestigious [UK] Music Industry Trust Award.
