\"\"<\/a>After a 19-year hiatus, raucous rockers\u00a0UGLY KID JOE<\/strong>\u00a0are set to return with a new full-length album entitled,\u00a0Uglier Than They Used Ta Be<\/em><\/strong>. Known predominantly in Australia for their massive hits of the early 90\u2019s, which saw \u2018Everything About You\u2019 reach #4 on the Australian ARIA Charts, followed by \u2018Cats in the Cradle\u2019 soaring to #1 in 1993 with massive amounts of airplay and achieving #8 on the overall chart for that year.<\/p>\n

The new album, which was recorded at\u00a0JT Studios<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Balance Studios<\/strong>\u00a0in Louisiana under the helm of producer and UKJ guitarist\u00a0Dave Fortman (Slipknot, Godsmack, Evanescence)<\/strong>, is scheduled for digital release in Australia on September 18 via UKJ Records.<\/p>\n

Whitfield Crane<\/strong>\u00a0(Vocals) and\u00a0Klaus Eichstadt<\/strong>\u00a0(Guitars) teamed up with\u00a0Sonny Mayo<\/strong>\u00a0(Guitars),Shannon Larkin<\/strong>\u00a0(Drums),\u00a0Zac Morris<\/strong>\u00a0(Drums),\u00a0Cordell Crockett<\/strong>\u00a0(Bass) and\u00a0Dave Fortman<\/strong>\u00a0(Guitars) to form the now 7-member line up a.k.a. \u201cSeven Headed Monster\u201d (pictured below) and write and record in the studio. The result is the most cohesive sounding\u00a0UGLY KID JOE<\/strong>\u00a0record to date.<\/p>\n

The chemistry flows so well throughout this new release, it’s as though they never left.\u00a0Uglier Than They Used Ta Be<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0boasts a collection of well-crafted rock tunes, from the riff driven \u2018Let The Record Play\u2019 to the hard-hitting \u2018She\u2019s Already Gone\u2019 and \u2018Hell Ain\u2019t Hard To Find\u2019. The album offers a collection of some of the best songs ever written by the band.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a full circle of sorts<\/em>,\u201d says Crane. \u201cThere was a lot of love and talent in one room and that is exactly what this album sounds like<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the nine newly written original songs, the album features a couple of cover songs includingRare Earth\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0version of \u2018Papa Was A Rolling Stone\u2019 with\u00a0Australian chart-topping vocalist<\/strong>\u00a0Dallas Frasca<\/strong>\u00a0lending her unmistakable vocals behind Crane, and the Mot\u00f6rhead classic \u2018Ace of Spades\u2019 with a very special guest appearance from\u00a0Mot\u00f6rhead guitarist<\/strong>\u00a0Phil Campbell<\/strong>\u00a0who lends his signature sound to the timeless track. Campbell also appears on the tracks \u2018My Old Man\u2019 and \u2018Under The Bottom\u2019.\u2018Hell Ain\u2019t Hard to Find<\/strong>\u2019 has already been released on music video and can be viewed via the following link, with UKJ\u2019S latest single, \u2018She\u2019s Already Gone<\/strong>\u2019 available to radio on Monday, September 14.<\/div>\n
