\"\"<\/a>It’s a huge day of announcements for\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0fans.<\/p>\n

The iconic rock band have revealed the title and release date of a brand new studio album, unveiled a handful of extra shows on their highly-anticipated\u00a0One Night Stand<\/strong>\u00a0tour and on top of all that they are excited to announce that they have coaxed\u00a0Grinspoon<\/strong>\u00a0out of an indefinite hiatus to be their special guests on 7 shows.<\/p>\n

Cold Chisel<\/strong>‘s new album will be called\u00a0The Perfect Crime<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and will hit stores on\u00a0Friday, 2 October<\/strong>\u00a0coinciding with the first gig on their\u00a0One Night Stand<\/strong>\u00a0tour at the\u00a0Deni Ute Muster<\/strong>. Featuring songs drawn from recording sessions across 2014 and 2015, the album will be kick-started by the single\u00a0Lost<\/em>, which will be released to radio and TV tomorrow, Friday, 28 August. Pre-orders for the album will also be available at all music retailers from tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

The newly announced extra shows on the\u00a0One Night Stand<\/strong>\u00a0tour will happen in Geraldton (WA), Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. The show at\u00a0Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre<\/strong>\u00a0on Tuesday, 17 November is in direct reaction to the huge outcry from their hometown fans demanding a show on the national tour.\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0played a one-off show at the Clipsal 500 in March to over 35,000 people and thought that they had exhausted demand. But their fans let them know, in no uncertain terms, that this wasn’t the case. The show at\u00a0Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena<\/strong>\u00a0on Thursday November 19 comes as\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>‘s headline show at\u00a0Hanging Rock<\/strong>, Vic is about to sell out. The band has also announced that on Tuesday, 15 December they will play a third and final show at Sydney’s\u00a0Qantas Credit Union Arena<\/strong>\u00a0to mark the closure of this iconic rock & roll venue. This additional Sydney date is very significant for\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0fans \u2013 it marks the anniversary of the final show of the band\u2019s famous Last Stand tour, which ended at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 15 December 1983.<\/p>\n

Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0are excited to announce that they have managed to persuade the much-loved\u00a0Grinspoon<\/strong>\u00a0out of hiatus to be the band’s special guests on 7 shows.\u00a0\u00a0Grinspoon<\/strong>\u00a0have been added to the already-announced One Night Stand shows at\u00a01300SMILES Stadium\u00a0<\/strong>in Townsville on Saturday, 7 November and at the\u00a0Darwin Amphitheatre\u00a0<\/strong>on Tuesday, 10 November and they will join\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0in Adelaide, Melbourne and on all 3 shows at the\u00a0Qantas Credit Union Arena\u00a0<\/strong>in Sydney. This return of\u00a0Grinspoon<\/strong>\u00a0will be exclusive to these shows with\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“We’ve done a couple of really memorable shows with Grinspoon,”<\/em>\u00a0says\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>\u00a0frontman\u00a0Jimmy Barnes<\/strong>. “They played with us on our huge return show at Homebush Stadium in 2009 and they joined us for one show on the Light The Nitro tour in 2011 and that just happened to be the biggest show of the tour. They’re a great band and a really good fit with Cold Chisel.”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cTo say we are excited to be supporting Cold Chisel is an understatement,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0says\u00a0Grinspoon<\/strong>\u00a0frontman\u00a0Phil Jamieson<\/strong>. \u201cThe show we played on the Light The Nitro tour was one of the most memorable shows I have ever played in my life! Arm in arm, all of us – Pat, Joe, Kris & I. Singing at the top of our lungs to ‘Flame Trees’. Grinspoon have NEVER been arm in arm before. It was a moment. I think I may have even fallen into a bush in my excitement.<\/em><\/p>\n

2015 is shaping up to be one the biggest and best in\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>‘s unparalleled four-decade career.\u00a0 “The Perfect Crime is probably the most rock & roll album that we\u2019ve ever done<\/em>,” says\u00a0Cold Chisel<\/strong>‘s primary songwriter\u00a0Don Walker<\/strong>. “Now we can’t wait to get out and play some of these songs on the One Night Stand tour.”<\/em><\/p>\n

All members will be able to buy a maximum of six (6) tickets from 2.00pm on Tuesday, 1 September until 10.00am, Thursday, 3 September using a special password which will be emailed to them on the evening of Monday, 31 August.<\/p>\n

Further tickets will be offered to members of the My Ticketek and other affiliated databases from midday on Wednesday, 2 September until 10.00am on Thursday, 3 September before a final allocation of seats is offered to the general public at midday on Thursday, 3 September.\u00a0All times mentioned are local times.<\/p>\n
