\"\"<\/a>Sydney-based Possum Records is proud to announce the signing of Sydney rock band Dead In A Second.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking for a great rock band to round out our artist roster. After hearing the early mixes of the new Dead In A Second album, I was convinced I\u2019d found the band I was looking for\u201d – Philip Israel, CEO, Possum Records.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dead In A Second formed in 2012 and made an immediate impact with the independently released debut EP Maretimo<\/em> <\/em>that debuted at #3 on the Australian iTunes Rock Charts in June the same year.<\/p>\n

Guitarist \/ songwriter \/ producer Tristan \u2018Trizo\u2019 Bouillaut made a name for himself with several bands including Kill The Capitol and Thousand Needles In Red. The Later earned him a Top 10 album and single in the AIR and iTunes Charts.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019<\/em>s<\/em> <\/em>every musicians dream to be backed by such music industry heavy weights. I look forward to working with Possum Records, Universal Music & The Pushworth Group. The Double Treblio is by far my best work yet. From songwriting to production this was a very spiritual process. Dead In A Second were in the studio in April this year midway through recording their debut album when the news came through of Chrissy Amphlett\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The Divinyls were a huge early influence on Bouillaut; he immediately put the album sessions on hold to concentrate on recording a tribute for Chrissy. From the outset, the song he wanted to cover was Boys In T<\/em>own<\/em> <\/em>and renamed the song Girls In Town <\/em>with a few other minor lyric changes with the blessing of Chrissy\u2019s family and EMI Music Publishers Australia.<\/p>\n

Girls In Town <\/em>was released in September this year and received widespread national radio support including airplay on the Triple M Network. All proceeds from the sales of Girls In Town <\/em>were donated to MS and breast cancer research.<\/p>\n

Possum Records celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2014. Its current local and international artist roster includes Ramones\u2019 drummer Richie Ramone, UK DJ Paul Mendez, US folk\/pop legends Melanie, Janis Ian and Linda Ronstadt and Australian acts PLUDO, Jacob Butler, Stare Union, Tricking Emma and Dennis Earl.<\/p>\n

Under the new agreement with Possum Records \/ UMA, Dead In A Second will release their first album The Double Treblio <\/em>on the label in March 2014. The band have partnered with Manny Kyriakidis from the Pushworth Agency to plan a national tour to support the release.<\/p>\n
