In 25 words or less:\u00a0 I wish more bands made albums like this, it\u2019s heavy, it\u2019s melodic and it\u2019s going to set the world on fire\u2026 given the chance.<\/p>\n

OK, this is rockin\u2019!\u00a0 I\u2019m five seconds into this album and I already know it will be a winner, straight out of the gate I am impressed.\u00a0 Black Veil Brides are back with their newest album, and their second in less than a year following on from their debut \u2018We Stitch These Wounds\u2019 they now give the us \u2018Set The World On Fire\u2019 and it truly means business. \u2018New Religion\u2019 leads us off and is full of melodic metal riffs and a big chorus that already has me hooked!\u00a0 If this is what I\u2019m in for then bring it on!\u00a0 The title track keeps the big choruses and big riffs coming but it\u2019s when we hit \u2018Fallen Angels\u2019 that I\u2019m completely sold on this album, I would\u2019ve been happy with a one track album if this was the song.\u00a0 This is a song full of \u2018whoa ohs\u2019 big gang choruses, harmony guitar solos and pure metal awesomeness!\u00a0 I need to side note here; don\u2019t let the look of the band deceive you or turn you away, I\u2019m telling you right now, give this a go, yeah that\u2019s right, I\u2019m telling you here, not even as a sum up at the end of the review!\u00a0 That\u2019s how good this is.<\/p>\n

As the album progresses it just makes me love the fact that these guys are making music like this, they\u2019re bringing back the look, the rock, the thing that I feel has been missing for far too many years.\u00a0 \u2018God Bless You\u2019 gives us a riff that you will be hooked on as soon as the song starts, but it\u2019s a song like \u2018Rebel Love Song\u2019 that has me here shaking my head; it\u2019s ridiculously good, I could name 12, no, 15 bands that probably WISH they had written and recorded this song.\u00a0 I can almost hear the jealousy from these bands purely because of this song.\u00a0 The album takes a turn and hits us with a ballad called \u2018Saviour\u2019, oh but one of those special ballads that builds up and rocks the outro, throw in a few screamo vocals for good measure (the first of only two on the album) and hey presto, big rock ballad!\u00a0 In fact, I can\u2019t fault anything I\u2019ve heard here on this album, it continues with \u2018Legacy\u2019 the first single from the album which encompasses everything that BVB sound like they are and want to be. \u2018Ritual\u2019 reminds me of the best song that Lostprophets never wrote but for me the album ends perfectly with \u2018Youth And Whisky\u2019 a big track with chunky riffs and showed that from start to finish Black Veil Brides meant business.<\/p>\n

Musically these guys can play, I mean really play, the musicianship on \u2018Set The World On Fire\u2019 is pristine, it\u2019s not too technical that it\u2019s messy and not too full that it\u2019s over bearing.\u00a0 It\u2019s a perfect blend of metal, glam rock, hard rock and hardcore.\u00a0 They\u2019ve found the right balance and they best not move as to tip the scales, they can stay right where they are with what they\u2019ve created.\u00a0 It\u2019s killer!<\/p>\n

I wish more bands made albums that sounded like this, it\u2019s heavy, it\u2019s melodic and it\u2019s going to set the world on fire\u2026 given the chance.<\/p>\n
